The Drop Cafe

Description

Breaking the mold on your standard Jerk gaff, The Drop Bar Cafe is a Chorlton joint of Caribbean cool and spicy blends.

Spinning an outfit of Modern island life, The Drop is an explosion of colour with vibrant dashed walls, mish-mashed furnitures and eccentric art prints adorning the walls. Building their caf out of reclaimed materials, it exudes a sense of raw, original style which is hard to come by these days. Still retaining the classic shabby-shack stylings of your usual Caribbean nook, The Drop is all about soul foods and that fun loving island spirit that can't be churned into chain.

Their aim is to present the authentic cuisine of the Caribbean to a new, contemporary palate seeing household recipes turned into Modern day dishes. Knowing how to please the people of this good land, The Drop present the Reggae Roast which is a hefty dollop of Lemon and Thyme BBQ Chicken, traditional Rice'n'Peas, Mac and Cheese with a final helping of Sweet Potato. And, of course, you'll also find Spicy Jerk an Curried Goat on the menu to keep the punters happy with some 'hot hot' happenings.

Rum is no doubt one of their staples when it comes to their cocktail offerings, but it's all in the condiments with these guys throwing together concoctions spiced with scotch bonnet chili, cardamon and fennel for a bit of an inspiring kick. Beer will be coming from the local brewmasters Shindigger with a humble wine list following of the fruity persuasion.

No mess, no fuss, just the Caribbean on your plate and some chilled times to follow.
