The Ape & Apple
The Ape & Apple is a great pub located in Manchester city centre, near Deansgate. The frontage is large and the gold lettering pronounces The Ape & Apple as a warm and welcoming haven. Inside the bar is minimalistic and largely traditional looking with warm wood panelling and some choice alcoves giving it a homely feel. The buzz and audible conversations of visitors also do wonders to create a busy and bustling atmosphere. Once known as an old man’s pub, The Ape & Apple now has a great mix of clientele but still hasn’t lost its friendly charm that wowed the locals previously.
Expect all the best beers, ales and ciders plus a strong wine and spirit selection, all served by the friendly staff with a smile and even a recommendation if you’re lucky. The monthly changing ales and beers keep the staff on their toes and make them extra knowledgeable about what comes out of their taps, a great feature if you’re a beer fan. The beer garden is one of the defining features of the pub, in the summer its a great haven from the buzz of Manchester and is a great location to enjoy a beer.
The Ape & Apple are home to the longest running free comedy night in Manchester regularly packing put the pub with great new up-and-coming comics ready to make your sides split with laughter. There is a reason it’s been running for so long, so take our word for it. They also have a cool jukebox and quiz nights to keep the punters entertained. A friendly pub in the heart of Manchester, The Ape & Apple is well worth a visit.
