Description

Marble Beer House in Chorlton, Manchester, is less like a pub and more like the living room of a quirky friend who has been raiding the Oxfam book shop down the road. Locals love it, but the good beer and even better prices means it’s popular with students, old-timers and everyone in between. It’s built for ale and literature lovers, with their own brews on tap (from Manchester’s Marble Brewery) plus a good selection of continental beers and lagers.

It’s small but perfectly formed, and refreshingly unfussy for this boho part of South Manchester - and if you hang around long enough to get a seat, it’s a great place to chat with mates and put the world to rights over a pint of Pint (their imaginatively-named house ale). The walls hold a combination of eclectic artwork and floor-to-ceiling book shelves, the staff are some of the friendliest in town and the mini-patio at the front is a good place to kick-back when it's warm. It may not be the most central bar in Chorlton, but Marble Beer House is well worth the short hop, skip and jump from the Metro - and the bus stop is just outside.
