Let’s Go Banana’s: Explore the South Pacific with Cargo Cult Rum

Meet Steve Magarry - the man bringing a taste of the South Pacific to the UK, one banana‑kissed rum at a time.

As the CEO of new Australian rum producer, Sydney Rum Distillery - brand owner of Cargo Cult Rum, Steve blends deep spirits knowledge with a mischievous sense of down-under adventure, making him the perfect guide for anyone ready to shake up their rum repertoire.

Steve has spent his career championing innovative, flavour‑first rum, and Cargo Cult is no exception. Crafted in the islands and infused with real bananas, it’s a rum with personality and Steve matches it beat for beat. Dry Spiced & Navy Strength round out the portfolio trifecta.

His seminars are fun, insightful, and packed with rum stories that transport audiences straight to the tropics.

Let’s Go Banana’s as we explore the culture, craft, and creativity behind Cargo Cult Rum and its growing impact on the UK spirits scene.

Paul McFadyen will take you on this voyage, after setting sail with Planteray Sealander, we'll sample different components that work together to produce our Planteray Mister Fogg's Navy Rum - the first rum made using these processes since 1970.
