If you're looking for something a little different this May Bank Holiday in Manchester then SpinFest in Spinningfields might be just the ticket. Following on from the success of last year’s Best of British extravaganza, on Sunday May 5th The Oast House will be hosting a day of live music, activities for the kids - plus it's free entry all day from 12 noon till 8pm.

Celebrating The Best of British, spanning the golden ages of rock, pop and indie, the event will see six live acts take to the stage across the afternoon, with Universal Exports, Kojo, Lauren Housley, Tony Nichols Band, Acoustic Flair and Rick Whitehead entertaining the crowds from midday.

Worried about the kids? No problem! There's a bright green double-decker 'fun-time' activity bus parked alongside the Courtyard in Spinningfields between 1pm and 5pm.  Providing high quality child-care for children from 2 ½ - 11 yrs in a safe and secure environment and it's all completely free of charge. As well as offering amusement for the younger members of the family, it will give parents a chance to relax and enjoy a few drinks, making this event accessible to all.

Grab a drink and enjoy The Oast House and Spinningfields at its glorious best.

If you fancy some lunch why not head to one of the local bars and restaurants? The Slug & Lettuce Spinningfields have a river side terrace and serves classic bar food. Treat yourself with one of there offers like 2-4-1 cocktails or 2-4-1 deserts! If you fancy going somewhere a bit more up market and splashing your cash then Australasia is a stylish venue serving modern Australian cuisine combined with Pacific Rim flavours, underpinned by European cooking tradition, a blend of Indonesian, Southeast Asian influences. The Oast House, the hub of SpinFest 2013, offers a different type of atmosphere in a Kentish style pub and eatery where the vibe is very much homely and welcoming. Enjoy quality dark and pale ales, draught beers and a stand-out wine list as you sample from their deli counter or a share a meat and cheese platter. If you just want a good meal after all that excitement then Southern Eleven and Neighbourhood are also amazing restaurant bars in the Spinningfields area.

Entry to this event is free but to avoid missing out, head down early as it will be entrance on a first come, first served basis from 12noon till 8pm.
