Rosso Launches New After Work Cocktail Menu

Working 9 till 5, what a way to work up a thirst. And if you're looking for somewhere to quench said thirst, then look no further than Rosso, who've just launched five brand new cocktails which are available from 5pm - 8pm every weekday for, you guessed it, £5.

The magnificent dining hall at the top of King Street may be better known for its designer food menu, but to the left of the bar as you enter the building you'll find a comfortable bar area where non-dining guests are encouraged to pull up a stool and enjoy a few after work drinks under Rosso's spectacular neo-classical domes and pillars.

Rosso Restaurant Bar

Manchester restaurant bar Rosso makes an ideal spot for after work drinks in Manchester

The new menu has been designed by Rosso's experienced staff, who are all mixology experts in their own right. Each bartender has contributed a different recipe, with the five cocktails on offer catering to a wide range of tastes. Inspired by traditional Italian flavours, and using the finest ingredients available, the cocktails capture the essence of la bella vita at its sunniest and most sophisticated.

Adding interesting twists to the classics, the menu includes drinks such as the Strawberry, Basil and Balsamic Mojito - which vamps up last season's much lusted after strawberry and basil creation with the addition of Galliano Balsamico. Our favourite was the zesty Pompelmo Sour, which combines Rosso's own recipe Grapefruit infused Ketel One Vodka with Aperol and bitters to create a refreshing and sophisticated drink .

Other favourites included the refreshing Capri Collins, which includes a long, cold scoop of lemon sorbet drizzled in Limoncello, the luxurious black cherry infused Il Cosmo Nero, and the Rossini - a twist on the classic strawberry Bellini. The significance of the number 5 won't be lost on fans of Rosso's owner Rio Ferdinand either. It is, of course, the  Manchester United star's shirt number. With such a range of flavours available it's only right that you should try them all - and at just £5 each you won't need a footballer's wage to do so.
