The Albert Hall is one of the newest and grandest venues in Manchester. Following opening gigs with Goldfrapp at Manchester International Festival 2013 and up and coming shows with Neutral Milk Hotel and Bombay Bicycle Club, we, the dance floor frequenting club lovers, have been patiently waiting for the news we have just received.
The announcement has been made that the Albert Hall will open its doors on New Year's Eve with the help of a Manchester institution responsible for moulding the musical history of this city into what it is today. Albert Hall presents A New Years Eve Hacienda party, with house music royalty Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, Marshall Jefferson and of course, the Hacienda DJs.
The party will take place across two rooms, allowing New Years party goers double the playground to parade around. The main room is occupied by the headliners, Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, Marshall Jefferson and Graeme Park, while Room Two will host a Hacienda Classics party with the likes of 808 state, Alistair Whitehead and Tom Wainwright,
This is a first outing as a club for the magnificent city centre venue, and what better way to prepare for 2014 than with a sell out party by the club that started it all. Headlining the show is Frankie Knuckles, American DJ and Producer responsible for some of the most important house music records of all time. A real legend of the game that has been DJing classic venues since the 1970's. Accompanying him at Albert hall is another American House music legend, Todd Terry who will be taking funky, hip hop influenced house music alongside Marshall Jefferson, the man who to manyinvented house music, and is responsible for producing incredible classics such as 'Move your body'.
