Shorter days, darker nights and tighter lockdown restrictions? If there's one thing that can perk us up right now, it's a brand spanking new pop-up for us to sink our teeth into. That's right folks, Bar Hütte is back in Manchester and Liverpool... not even Covid-19 can stop this tinsel-topped favourite from spreading its yearly yuletide cheer.
Occupying the Great Northern Warehouse from 2nd December, the winter retreat will be home to 24 indoor and outdoor huts - the perfect choice for date nights, after-work drinks and catch-ups with mates. Yep, you can even take advantage of the outdoor huts across the square on Peter Street for some socially-distanced fun. In keeping with the après ski theme, each one will be decorated as a cosy ski chalet; think festive lights, snug heat lamps and a 'carol-oke' machine. Alexa, play Last Christmas.
Bringing you all the ingredients for a cracking curfew-friendly evening, the kitchen will be cooking up freshly baked pizza, while bombardino cocktails - filled with hot rum and eggnog - are on the menu once again.
With the city being on high alert, you can rest assured that safety is still a priority this winter. Expect freshly sanitised private hüttes, temperature checks, contact-free app ordering and your own personal server.
