Solomon Grundy

Description

Solomon Grundy is located in Withington, between the more studenty area of Fallowfield and neighbouring Didsbury. A kind of café-bar fusion, Solomon Grundy wows visitors with its chilled out vibe and relaxed atmosphere. When you step inside you are greeted by wooden tables very reminiscent of a quaint country pub or village café. The whitewashed brick walls and tiled floors also give the impression of calm and tranquillity.

Solomon Grundy has an excellent wine list on offer, complemented by strong beer and spirit ranges; all served up by excellent and friendly staff, a massive selling point for any bar. Food-wise, they do a fantastic selection of tapas, joined on the menu by some classic breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. Their ‘The King’ fry-up was even touted as “the best morning-after breakfast in Manchester” by More magazine. The kitchen is also open late till 10pm, so if you want to eat before you chill out with a few drinks, you’re more than welcome to. A specials board also lists up 20 items daily, a testament to the fresh cooking style at Solomon Grundy.

Solomon Grundy does live music (mainly chilled to match the bar vibe), weekly quizzes, and DJs playing alternative/jazz/blues mixes later in the week. A really cool place to hang out with friends, Solomon Grundy is ideal if you're just after a drink and a catch up, any time of day.
