The classic "Underground Supper Club" experience: enjoy a flavour-packed four-course tasting menu in one of London's most unique venues, a decommissioned 1967 London Underground carriage. Expect clean and crisp Scandinavian flavour presented in a relaxed French Brasserie style. On top, every guest will receive a complimentary cocktail on arrival and the bar stocked with niche, single estate wines as well as great beers, cider and soft drinks. have a bar offering wine, beer and soft drinks througout the night.

Basement Galley Head Chef Alex Cooper is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu School, Paris, training under some of France’s top chefs. He has worked at the AA-Rosette winning Rufflets Hotel in Scotland, two Michelin Star "Sketch" on Conduit Street, was consultant chef at the brand new restaurant startup in Clapton and now works as a private chef all over the capital.

Do you cater for dietary requirements? Yes. There is a section for that when you buy your ticket. Basement Galley can cater for most religious or allergy requirements as long as we know in advance; otherwise we won't be able to cater for you on the night.

Is there a dress code? No. Please feel comfortable. Some people like to dress up a bit but others choose the t-shirt and jeans options. We just want you to enjoy your evening!

Is this a BYOB event? No. The onsite bar will be offering a carefully selected menu of wines, beers, and soft drinks on the night. Obviously all the whiskies will be on sale, too.

Does the tube carriage move? Sadly not. Even though the photos might suggest otherwise, the decommissioned 1967 Victoria Line carriage is completely stationary at the Pump House Museum in Walthamstow.

Is the tube carriage heated? Yes. However, during the winter months you may wish to wear something a little warmer should a draft slip through. If you need a little more warmth, then ask us for one of our cosy red blankets....or hit the bar!

Will I be sitting next to people I know? Sort ofDespite silver service and high-end food, it's a supper club, NOT a restaurant. The organisers will try to accomodate people who book together close to each other, but please be prepared for sitting next to the odd stranger as well due to the layout of the carriage: it's been proven time and time again that guests who get to know fellow diners in this way get the most out of the evening!

My partner was curious to say the least as we headed into the side streets having emerged from Walthamstow Central tube. A little later, on another (1967) Victoria line tube, we were having an amazing meal surrounded not by commuters, but by gin cocktails, wine, champagne, exquisite food and some very happy fellow diners. A truly original and fantastic experience - thoroughly recommended by us both... Alicja visited The Underground Supper Club on 22 Jun 2016

What a wonderful experience! The portions were small, however, each mouthful was a new taste sensation! Alex was a warm and welcoming host and the waiting service was excellent. The venue is fantastic (although the tube itself is a little on the grubby side). One thing about the tables: myself and my partner are over 6ft and struggled to get our legs underneath! Luckily we had a private booth, so we managed to ma over easily. It was such a lovely night, a truly unforgettable experience! Naomi visited The Underground Supper Club on 10 Jun 2016

We went to the July 2016 supper club and absolutely loved the whole thing! The place was just so cool. The 1967 Victoria Line tube carriages are just sitting in a scruffy yard and look exactly as they did the day they retired. Not at all sanitised but the tables were smartly decked out with white table cloths and lanterns. The staff were so welcoming and lovely - and fun! You get a welcome drink included in the ticket price. We also had a nice bottle of wine which wasn't expensive. The food was really unusual. Mostly delicious but some a little too experimental for me. Be warned - the portions are very small but that was fine - it's not about getting full, it's about experiencing interesting new flavours and textures. Really different from anything I'd eaten before. One of the chefs came onto the train to talk to us before and after the meal which was a great touch. The service was just perfect. I thoroughly recommend this night out. It's so unique and such fun. Unforgettable! Fiona visited The Underground Supper Club on 04 Jun 2016
