Jazz vocalist and actress Airlie Scott presents her newest project "The Hot Jazz Vagabonds" playing a hot jazz sandwich of French Chanson, Gypsy jazz, early swing and Latin tunes and some exciting originals. The line-up features Airlie Scott on vocals together with cellist Shirley Smart (Melange), a jazz/world music specialist who has been described as “one of the best improvising cellists in the UK …….” The JazzMann, with the fiery but melodic playing of loved gypsy jazz guitarist David Ahmed and with guitarist Peter Michaels, (Pocket Caravan, Bhavani) whose unique performance style is enhanced by his classical and flamenco playing combined with contemporary and jazz influences. The perfect gig for a summer's evening.
Established London-based vagabond jazz musicians present a hot jazz sandwich of French chanson, gypsy jazz tunes, early vintage swing, Latin tunes and exciting originals. Led by engaging Jazz vocalist Airlie, a new exciting crossover gypsy jazz band with an exciting improvising cellist who plays the cello both like a double bass and as a soloing instrument. Add to that two fantastic collaborative guitarists both with their own unique diverse influences, some beautiful French chanson, swinging hot gypsy jazz standards, exciting originals and you have a recipe for something rather wonderful! Jazz Vocalist Airlie plays regularly with her bands Pronto Swing and Pronto Jazz.
