THE LAST MORRELL 9:15PM - 9:50PM
Raised in a small town in Yorkshire, The Last Morrell grew up being comforted by the sounds of Seattle grunge and the alternative rock scene. The lyrics painted feelings of being trapped, bored and angry which connected The Last Morrell to an American sound that has permeated through his first songs written as a teenager, to present day. The Beatles and Supertramp records his Father played, along with the Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin CD’s his Mother bought showed him the potential strength in being an outsider. The Last Morrell is a testament to this.
“Having received praise from Jessie Ware on BBC Radio 1 and Robert Elms on BBC Radio London, as well as plays on every BBC Introducing show in the UK, The Last Morrell has now released his debut EP, Sarcasm.”
SEZIN ANGELOVA 8:30PM - 9:00PM
London based songwriter and a sophisticated jazz vocalist, Sezin Angelova likes to sing fragments that will come together in a certain way to create a language of emotional or intellectual intensity. She personalises the sounds and vibrations that are uncovered from the layers of her diverse background from Istanbul to London. With the unique and glossy patterns of her voice, Sezin mixes various musical influences into a modern Jazz appreciation.
JAMES ROBB 7:45PM - 8:15PM
You might not expect soulful RnB to emerge from the Hertfordshire countryside, but that is exactly what on-the-rise artist & songwriter James Robb is all about. Driven by a rich soulful voice, Robb captivates with an innate sense of rhythm and melody. Fresh off his recent appearance on The Voice UK on Team Anne-Marie and his latest single 'Sweaters' featuring on Spotify's New Music Friday UK, 2021 is already off to a flying start for the young artist.
FLORENCE FIRTH 7:00PM - 7:30PM
Florence Firth is a singer-songwriter from southeast London.
Born into a musical family, she received piano lessons from her grandma from the age of five and started songwriting at 13. After graduating from the Brit school she started performing jazz and her own songs all over London at venues including Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts, The Troubadour and The Ned.
Florence is heavily influenced by 70s singer-songwriters like Carole King, Elton John and James Taylor. But her sound also incorporates contemporary indie pop references like Bruno Major and Laura Marling.
In April 2021 she released her debut EP, I Dance On My Own and the singles Love On Repeat and Cool.
