Soprano Andrea Eklund and Bass Matthew Collins join instrumentalists from Voces Sanctorum to present a programme charting the transformation of Italian Sacred Music through the influence of secular song. Featuring well-known sacred works by Claudio Monteverdi alongside secular pieces by the masters Giulio Caccini and Jacopo Peri who influenced him, as well as arias by one of the first great female composers, Francesca Caccini. The performance will be framed by instrumental works for Theorbo and Baroque Cello.
