A night of fresh and catching sounds with Steel Pan and Saxophone Quintet
Professional musicians Roberto Manzin (Saxophone) & Susannah Flack (Steel Pan) present a highly anticipated night of melodic originals and catchy new arrangements with a first-class rhythm section. This husband and wife duo present a unique look into their creative lives with melodic expressive compositions performed by impressive techniques.
Roberto Manzin is best known for his impressive solos which have the chromatic excitement of Brecker and the soulfulness of Sanborn. He is also a composer of elegant and intricate originals. Some of which you will hear tonight. Roberto has worked extensively with the renowned Tony Scott Quintet in the 90s which eventually lead to him being a featured artist in mainstream Italian TV performing alongside the likes of James Brown, Zucchero Fornaciari & Manu Katché.
His wife Susannah has played Pan-Jazz with the Engine Room Collective, funky Jazz with Dill Katz, Afro-Latin Jazz with Roland Perrin’s Limited Edition and anti-Jazz with the Matt Parry Trio. Susannah has given a performance at the House of Lords and busked on the London underground.
