Description
Neil Maxfield returns to Toulouse Lautrec with his new cabaret A West End Wander. Taking inspiration from his own tour he's run for over six years, The West End Musical Theatre Walking Tour, he now brings some of the stories and songs from the streets to the stage.
Incorporating songs from iconic shows like Miss Saigon, Avenue Q and Everybody's Talking About Jamie this show explores the shows using anecdotes and fun personal stories connected with musicals that have graced the West End over the last 40 years.
Neil returns with Ricardo Fernandes on piano with whom he has used as his musical director for 3 cabarets and is also happy to have as a special guest HiDay who has performed cabaret on the West End.

Neil Maxfield - Vocalist
Neil has been performing from a young age and has performed on the two largest stages in the West End; Theatre Royal Drury Lane (Sweet Charity) and The London Palladium (Solo Artist). He has won first prize in two National singing competitions for Musical Theatre and has spent many years as a professional solo artist and actor, toured a musical show around the North and performed shows off West End.
Neil has created and performed 2 cabarets in the West End, his first Pret a Porter at both The Phoenix Arts Club and Toulouse Lautrec. His second show Rodgers & Hammerstein Collaborations was also performed at the Phoenix Arts Club and both shows were livestreamed during lockdown.
Neil created his own tour, The West End Musical Theatre Walking Tour, a performance-based tour charting history of 14 West End theatres with anecdotes about stars and composers with songs. He was also part of Playbill Experiences, providing talks for them using his insightful knowledge of the West End both past and present.
Neil is excited to be performing again at this iconic venue, this time with a more modern and broader outlook of the composers and performers who have graced the West End.
Ricardo Fernandes - Pianist
Ricardo Fernandes is a composer and musical director based in London. A classically trained pianist from age 8, Ricardo came into contact with the roots of music theory, composition and performance from a very early age. Moving to the UK at age 16, Ricardo started performing with local artists at venues all around Berkshire. This allowed him to compose and perform a wide range of musical arrangements in a number of genres, from jazz and soul to modern musical theatre. Ricardo made his musical direction debut at 17 with the show Hairspray. Since then, besides musical directing over a dozen productions, he has been performing at top London cabaret venues such as The Pheasantry: A Pizza Express Live venue, the Phoenix Arts Club and the Toulouse Lautrec. Having recently graduated from the London College of Music with a First-Class degree in Film Music Composition, Ricardo has been working in the film industry in a wide range of capacities, from part preparation and score setting for recording sessions at Dean Street Studios, to writing music for short and feature length films. Ricardo’s more recent work include writing music for political campaign ads, the end titles music for the recently released short film Just the Two of Us as well as writing music for the upcoming short films Retribution Day, Juice and God 2.0. He is also the composer of the two upcoming feature films Phatnav and Second Chance.
HiDay - Guest Vocalist
HiDay is thrilled to be performing with Neil in his show "A West End Wander". She is a professional actress and the last few years (before Covid) she has focused her attention on cabarets and singing gigs (West End and The Pheasantry), her passion being songs in foreign languages. During lockdown she started a You Tube channel, singing songs for freinds around the world in their language, as a gift to them. You can see them at: youtube.com/c/HiDay-Songbird.
