Helen McDonald Jazz Vocals and percussionist of Future Groove formed the band at the turn of century. Originally With special guest like Orphy Robinson Larry Bartley Omar Puente & Nana Tsiboe. Since those early days Helen has taken Future Groove all over London playing at many venues and festivals. The current line up is Sue Lynch on Tenor Saxophone and Flute. Yul Emarali keyboards, Leslee Booth 6 string Contra Bass, Paul Zimmerman Kit Drums. The band newly released single Love Yourself on Pure-Vinyl records is getting air play on Resoance FM. An exciting funky Jazz core to the music playing classic rare grooves like Black Gold of Sun and songs as divers e as Charlie Mingus and the Sylistic their heady sounds feed into their lively original tracks.
Helen McDonald has played at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Cafe Womad Glastonbury, international festivals in Guyana Russia Jamaica Lithuania Lisbon. She also plays with Yaaba Funk Afro beat /hi life funk band, Hogcallin Charlie Mingus band, FutureGroove.
