Ctrl+Alt+Jazz is the new live music night that celebrates bands and artists pushing the jazz genre to its heavier fringes. On Tuesday 21st April 2026, the first of these events will take place at The Finsbury in Finsbury Park, North London. It features a blinding triple bill of jazz-adjacent acts.
Headlining is St. Barbe, the progressive, genre-shifting trio, fresh from the release of their second EP, Shoal - an explosive collection which features a collaboration with Mercury-nominated corto.alto. The single Tierra has been championed by key tastemakers on national radio, garnering plays from Jez Nelson, China Moses and Soweto Kinch. St. Barbe has previously sold out shows at Ronnie Scott’s, and opened for Mike Stern at the Jazz Cafe.
Pyjæn (pronounced ‘Pie-Jan’) seamlessly combines jazz, disco, punk, hip hop and other contemporary sounds to create a singular musical experience. Since 2019, the prolific London five-piece has released several records, and earned acclaim from figures such as Gilles Peterson, Huey Morgan, Jazz FM and Clash Magazine. Ctrl+Alt+Jazz will serve as the launch of Pyjæn’s upcoming single, Eye Spy.
Opening the show is Meet Your Heroes, the mathy jazz-rock trio from Brighton. The band’s compositions blend guitar melodies, swampy grooves, complex riffs and deadly improvisation into a heady fusion brew. 2025 saw the release of their self-titled debut EP, and a breakout set at Love Supreme Jazz Festival.
