Allow your guide, 'The Baroness' to transport you back to the London of three hundred years ago and into the steamy underworld of the Georgian sex worker. Meet the women that 'made it', and those that ended up in the gutter; the high class courtesans and the gin-addled street walkers; the business-savvy Brothel Madams and the corrupted country girls. Hear the stories of the women that weren't often given a voice - in a trade that existed to serve men and the patriarchy. What was it really like for them, and have we learned the lessons of the past?

Back by popular demand, Eighteenth Century London's sordid, saucy, and often brutal sex industry is dramatically and comically brought to life in this immersive, theatrical experience for Valentines. What better way to celebrate the season of 'love' than with a wander with the "connoisseurs"

And when your thirst for lewd women, saucy stories and harrowing histories has been well and truly quenched, we'll finish the experience at a tavern that takes it's name from one of the most notorious courtesans of all time - The Nell Gwynne!

Tour starts at Covent Garden tube station and ends at Nell Gwynne Tavern. Run time: approximately 1.5 hours. Small groups. Fancy dress, lovers and 'single ladies' all warmly welcomed...;-

    It was so refreshing to find this interactive walk about sex workers very respectful of the women themselves, putting their stories in the historical context of the all-prevailing patriarchy of the eighteenth century. The host Maria has clearly researched her subject thoroughly but wears the knowledge lightly and is never less than engaging and enthusiastic. All in all, the tour, including the talented actresses playing various roles, is entertaining, professional and occasionally very moving.

    We’ve done loads of walking tours, but this is special. It’s packed with brilliant stories, but it’s the immersive element and easy charm of Maria. That makes this something special.
