When Basement Galley, creators of The Underground Supper Club, teamed up with Edinburgh-based Whisky Business ( they had no idea that London would go so crazy for this exceptional dinner series: Their four course seasonal dinner inclusive of a paired flight of exclusive whiskies (yes, that's four drams). As always, there will be a secret cask-strength, limited edition whisky courtesy of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society on sale (included with VIP Booth)! 

Felipe, founder of Whisky Business, will be taking you through the whiskies, so you know more about what you're drinking in your glass and can bullsh*t authoritatively about whisky at the end of the evening - his words, not ours!

 Felipe's past whisky credentials include writing an MSc thesis on sustainable distillation, working at award-winning independent bottler Robert Graham, and playing with his blues band at the Islay Feis Ile whisky festival every year.

Basement Galley Head Chef Alex Cooper is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu School, Paris, training under some of France’s top chefs. He has worked at the AA-Rosette winning Rufflets Hotel in Scotland, two Michelin Star "Sketch" on Conduit Street, was consultant chef at the brand new restaurant startup in Clapton and now works as a private chef all over the capital. Expect fresh and unconventional Skandinavian flavours presented in a relaxed French brasserie style. 


Do you cater for dietary requirements? Yes. There is a section for that when you buy your ticket. Basement Galley can cater for most religious or allergy requirements as long as we know in advance; otherwise we won't be able to cater for you on the night. 

Is there a dress code? No. Please feel comfortable. Some people like to dress up a bit but others choose the t-shirt and jeans options. We just want you to enjoy your evening! 

Is this a BYOB event? No. The onsite bar will be offering a carefully selected menu of wines, beers, and soft drinks on the night. Obviously all the whiskies will be on sale, too. 

Does the tube carriage move? Sadly not. Even though the photos might suggest otherwise, the decommissioned 1967 Victoria Line carriage is completely stationary at the Pump House Museum in Walthamstow. 

Will I be sitting next to people I know? Sort of. Despite silver service and high-end food, it's a supper club, NOT a restaurant. The organisers will try to accomodate people who book together close to each other, but please be prepared for sitting next to the odd stranger as well due to the layout of the carriage: it's been proven time and time again that guests who get to know fellow diners in this way get the most out of the evening!

The ticket purchaser is responsible for making Basement Galley Limited, the event organiser, aware of any dietary requirements at least 1 week before the event.Please do this via e-mail to

1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.

Basement Galley

Basement Galley started as a supper club in a flat in Brixton when Cordon Bleu Chef Alex and city solicitor Tom ran out of money and wanted to have a dinner party. Now a company in its own right, Basement Galley hosts a fine dining supper club the 'Underground Supper Club', in a decommissioned 1967 tube carriage as well as offering bespoke private dining across the capital. Was pricy for what you where given. The whisky didn't feel like it was paired at all with the food. Main course was fish with a very heavy pete whisky that wiped it out. But the food itself was good enough. Robert visited The Underground Supper Club on 10 Apr 2016
