The food was good. That was the only good thing. 1. It was not New Orleans themed. The singer was cabaret but German?! why German? 2. The food was not themed. I mean... ox cheek, delicious, but having live in NO. It made no sense. 3. The band came on way too late. 4. The alcohol was expensive given the venue and I resent being made to choose wine based on economy, business class etc. 5. We were not welcomed at the door. some woman swanning around with a handbag welcomed two other people and left us to hang up our own coats and work out where to sit (we were subsequently moved) 6. The toilets were out of paper and the queue was massive. Just a really poorly executed night. Visited The Pill Box Kitchen on 2016-02-27

Good night at the Pill Box largely due to the food, and even got 2 cocktails. Canapes kept coming and ceviche was delicious as was the Ox cheek although portion was a little small. Actually looking back at the menu, didn't have the wild boar and pea jambalaya?! We then had ice lollies as a palate cleanser before a very generous dessert of the deconstructed Mud Pie. In terms of improving the night, the entertainment was poor (not sure if this was largely due to the bad acoustics) the ringmaster was almost impossible to hear/understand and the tap dancing was just a bit lame. While the food was great, the feeling of being in New Orleans didn't come across at all, though still an enjoyable night. Visited The Pill Box Kitchen on 2016-02-27
