Mother's Comedy Ball is a new monthly comedy night bringing you the funniest and most diverse of London's up and coming comedians.
We are passionate to bring you the best of all London's rising stars, including the talents of women, LGBTQIA, BAME,, people with disabilities and neurodiverse communities.
This month’s line up includes:
LOUISA KEIGHT: Funny Women 2021 Finalist, Max Turner Prize 2021 Finalist, 2Northdown New Act Competition 2021 Semi-Finalist, Soho Theatre Young Company & Cambridge Footlights alumnus
SARAH ROBERTS: Sarah first tried stand up at an open mic night in 2019 and won a tiny plastic trophy so she quit her job the next day to go pro. Her screen time now averages 9 hours a day. She can’t look at her own face without an Instagram filter but can and will WhatsApp you a picture of her arsehole.
SHARON WANJOHI: Sharon Wanjohi is an up and coming stand up comedian with a varied act ranging from shock to absurd comedy. A current Chortle Student Comedy Award Finalist and Funny Women Stage Award Finalist, with 2 years on the circuit, she talks (maybe too much) about children's films and the cartoon dilfs that inspired a generation of sexual awakenings. And she thinks Ratatouille is a commentary on race.
STELLA GRAHAM: Stella Graham is a naturally funny stand-up comedian, writer & actor. Shameless, charmingly aggressive and unladylike, she's the funniest half Sri Lankan gal from Coventry. Stella has entertained audiences all around the world, from the Comedy Store in LA to the New Zealand Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe.
“If you're a TV executive, drop what you're doing and go see her now” - The Skinny
"A slick, sharp and polished set, balanced with a warmth and charm that had our audience queuing up to meet her after the gig! Superb!" - Nodding Dog Comedy
JOE BINGHAM: Joe Bingham is a comedian hailing from the Midlands who has performed regularly across the country at venues such as Glee Club, Vauxhall Comedy Club and Up The Creek, often delivering a self deprecating education in why life in Birmingham isn’t something he’s grown to miss, and how his new life in London hasn’t helped him to escape the real problem, namely, himself.
“A surprisingly refreshing and bright new comedian with some terrific lines. Look out for him, he has a bright future” - Comedy in Leicester
LUKE CRAIG: Finalist in the 2019 Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, Luke Craig draws the audience in with his impeccable wit and stage presence. With topics ranging from his South London upbringing to fatherhood, Craig is surely one to watch out for.
“He is a compelling storyteller, with command of pacing, timing, and the dramatic pause.” – The Evening Standard
“His talk of growing up around the shady characters of Croydon and Lewisham, offer[s] some insight into a world not often credibly portrayed” -Chortle
KATE CHEKA: Funny Woman Award Semi-Finalist 2021, Kate Cheka, soul of an African, voice of an old British man. Self-identifying chuckle lady. Sore loser. Sometimes celibate. Formerly Berlin-based host of Shows B4 Bros - a femmes open mic. Makes comedy to spite someone who once said ‘I thought you were more fun’.
MEERA CADE: Funny Women Award Semi-Finalist 2021, Meera (they/them) is a queer performance artist and comedian, single mum and retired porn star. Meera use hilarious wit and insight to share stories from her past adventures in the sex industry, and her present life as a single mum and stand-up comedian. Candid and cleverly political Meera leaves you on the edge of your seats laughing your head off.
