Good Ship Comedy is heading to it's biggest and most spectacular venue yet. Brockwell Hall is a stunning Grade II-listed Georgian Mansion House set within the grounds of the historic Brockwell Park. And we're stuffing it full of the nations' funniest comedians.
JAMALI MADDIX
Star of Taskmaster, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Live at the Apollo
and host of Vice's Hate Thy Neighbour, Jamali Maddix is one of the
most fearless, incisive and hilarious comedians working in the UK
today. Jamali’s mix of intelligent, confrontational comedy and
authenticity continues to set him apart as a compelling voice on
stage and screen.
Jamali came to prominence as the host of Vice’s ‘Hate Thy Neighbour’, where Jamali would travel the world meeting extremist groups to explore the roots of their ideologies. His documentary credits also include Channel 4’s ‘Adventures in Futureland’ and his latest series, ‘Follow The Leader,’ produced by Louis Theroux’s company Mindhousem which was nominated for multiple awards. He was a regular contributor for ‘Frankie Boyle's New World Order’ and has appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Russel Howard House and QI. His podcast 'Spooky Shit' won Best Comedy Podcast at the British Podcast Awards.
“Something to offend everyone.” ★★★★ The Sunday Times
“It’s a failing of the comedy industry that there aren’t more
voices like Jamali Maddix on the circuit.” ★★★★

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
