COMEDIANS:

VICTOR PATRASCAN

Hello. My name is Victor and I’m a stand up comedian.

I was born in Romania and grew up in a village and with the toilet in the back of the yard. When I got older, I moved to the city where I earned a BA in Philosophy from the worst university in Romania.

I’m the first Romanian to perform stand up comedy in broken English, with my first performance in London at the UCL Print Room Cafe in 2012. That was also when I got my first official complaint for telling innapropriate jokes. We had a meeting about it and I was almost expelled from the Comedy Club.

Since then, I’ve told my jokes in front of a crowd of people throughout the UK, Germany, Holland, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates and Romania.

In 2019 and 2020, I toured my solo stand up comedy show called The Trouble with being Born Romanian throughout Europe with shows in over 30 cities. Also, in 2019 and 2020 I topped the rankings of Roast Battle London. I was recently a special guest on Romanian TV show iUmor and scared a few people with my jokes.

MUSTAFA YASIN

Mustafa has been a regular on the UK comedy scene since he started performing in 2017 at the age of 19 as a stand up and an improviser.

He was a runner up at the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition in 2018, the next year he won the Quantum Leopard Champion of Champions award 2019 and was nominated for the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year award in 2020.

His slick stage presence along with his unique perspective allow him to make fresh observations about the life of a young, dumb, and handsome mixed culture kid.

MATT HUTCHINSON

Matt is a doctor – this has made his parents very proud. He’s also a stand up comedian, this has made his parents very confused. They have relaxed a bit, now he performs in clubs they have actually heard of – including the Comedy Store, Backyard and Covent Garden.

He sometimes meets them half way, and performs science comedy as part of the Science Showoff Talent Factory, in venues including the Science Museum.

Back when he was younger and still trying to be cool, he was a DJ – playing in places including the Secret Garden party, Ministry of Sound and Egg London. 2 of his productions were broadcast on XFM (now Radio X). He now brings these skills to comedy – with the show Mixtape, a comedy block party. This mixed bill show enjoyed a successful run at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe and will be making a return at London venue in the near future.

He has been a Semi Finalist in the So You Think You Are Funny and Amused Moose comedy competitions – a record he is hoping to improve on in this year’s BBC New Comedy Award!

LEW FITZ

Winner of the prestigious Amused Moose National New Comedian of the Year Award, 2020 and tipped as one of the most unique and vibrant young talents to hit the comedy circuit in years, Lew Fitz mixes a blend of originality and intrigue with Northern charm to excite audiences up and down the country.

Born and raised in Manchester, Lew started comedy in 2014 at a biker bar in Gainesville, Florida. Since then he performed in Miami for two years going on to be the youngest Finalist in Florida's Funniest Comedian, 2015 before moving to London in 2016.

Since returning to the UK he has found success by being selected for the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award, 2018 before that he was voted Dave TV’s Top 5 Jokes of the Fringe, 2017. In 2018 he graduated from the Soho Theatre Advanced Comedy Lab.

Additionally he was a Finalist in the Bath New Comedian of the Year Award, 2018 and a Semi-Finalist in So You Think You're Funny? in 2016.

We bought the bottomless brunch and comedy night. Food - a limited menu of 4 meals, one was not available (one I wanted). Very budget non nutritional food. Not great quality. Drink - limited drinks menu, again cheap drinks, couple of sweet cocktails, beer and Prosecco. Atmosphere - brunch was 18-25 year old drunk young women (literally not one male at brunch - except bar staff and security) dancing into their mobile phones creating TikTok videos in a night club setting. Comedians - funny, albeit a very short set. Staff - all very pleasant and friendly. Note - ticket says starts at 4pm and to arrive 30mins before. Just to be clear food and drink is available at that time, comedians don’t start until 6.30. Literally no need to get there 2.5hrs before unless you’re up for the above vibe. Reading the reviews - surprised that they had 7 and 12 comedians. We had just 4 and it was over in an hour. Which was disappointing. Not really my scene, we left and had a drink elsewhere and got back for the start of the comedy bit. Won’t be going back.
