Caminos is a fun, reimagined, active way to learn and practise Spanish. Each walk has a set topic (eg social justice, lockdown experiences, music, short films, breaking the ice, etc). Before the event you will get an activity pack emailed with a short real-life video and tasks to complete to inspire the conversation.
This taster event will give you a glimpse into our unique approach. Aimed for anyone interested in starting Spanish and finding out more about our online and in person classes and social Spanish walks. On the day you can secure your spot for our courses with an exclusive discount.

Level
This is currently a mixed ability group for upper beginner and early intermediate with differentiated support provided on the walk. Purchase a ticket for your level in order to receive the appropriate resources.
Aims:
- Improve your pronunciation and confidence in speaking on special topics.
- Broaden your vocabulary with up to 25 new words listed per week and an app to learn them through.
- Meet new people and explore London’s green spaces.
- Set your own learning objectives and track over time.
Class plan breakdown:
20-30 mins:
Peer-to-peer sharing on recent Spanish learnt
Games linked to the setting.
Quiz each other on new words from our word list.
40-50 mins:
Converse in Spanish as you walk in pairs and three.
Ask and answer prepared questions on the video and topic.
Use sentence starters as support.
Teacher monitoring with a mix of a chance to relax and chat as well as receive feedback.
10-20 minutes:
Reflection and peer-to-peer support
Teacher feedback.
Experience includes:

FAQs
Why walk in green spaces to practise Spanish conversation?
Walking and time in green spaces have been shown to:
- improve attention and memory,
- lower cortisol and therefore any stress and anxiety,
- help your brain to lay new neural pathways needed for learning.
Can I attend several of these walks in a row?
Yes. You can book bundles of tickets. These are semi-flexible tickets. Get a minimum of 5 classes in a bundle of tickets and have the flexibility to use these at any of the dates that are available.
To book these please visit our website page for Caminos and purchase a bundle directly. You will have the opportunity to get a bundle of either 5, 8 or 10 tickets to join the remainder of the walks within the season.

Can I book several of the same style of taster classes in a row?
Yes for the first season you can buy one by one. After your first season you will have the opportunity to get a bundle of either 5, 8 or 10 tickets to join the remainder of the walks within the season (60 hours, A2).
Can I change my dates?
Yes you can request a transfer up to 48 hours before the class. Cancellation within 48 hours your ticket means you will lose the ticket.
Do I need to speak Spanish before the event?
Yes. This event is designed for beginners with at least to 6 months of learning (60 hours, A2).
Do I need to prepare anything before I attend?
You will have more fun if you prepare. You have the option complete the activity pack provided by email once you book. You will gain access to use our app course to learn the words and say hi to attendees in our event chat group set up before the event.
What is the transfer and refund policy for Caminos?
If Stripey Spanish reschedules the class you will be offered a refund or a reschedule option.
If you are unable to attend a class and provide 48 hours notice you can receive a transfer less any third party fees.
If you are unable to attend a class within 48 hours you will lose your ticket.
If you bundle booked up to 2 weeks before the start of the season can be refunded.
Within 2 weeks of the start of the season a transfer can be requested to apply the bundle to a future season.

How long does the event last?
The walk lasts around 1.5 hours.
Do you offer discounts?
We normally offer an early bird offer. For this event with 50% off the taster class with the code EARLYBIRD. At the event you can book with 20% off the bundles.
What Spanish will I learn?
Using Spanish vocabulary linked to the topic. Peer accountability and pointers for independent study and listening and conversation practice.
What if I am a complete beginner?
You will need to have a minimum of 6 months study before attempting the walks to secure the basics. Please email the team for suggestion on how to reach this level. Either through our classes or through self-study.
What if I am an early intermediate level speaker?
You will gain from the experience if you have an early intermediate level (B1). We will give you a chance to practise more conversation skills and speak with others with a higher level. Simply book onto the early intermediate level class.
What if I am an upper intermediate or advanced level speaker?
This is not designed to provide opportunity for the practise of progression of those at an upper intermediate or advanced level (B2 or C1, C2) so it probably isn’t ideal for you. You are welcome to attend if you are happy to speak slowly and support those with a lower level of Spanish. You will primarily enjoy the walk itself and the Spanish speaking atmosphere.

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
