Inspired by Parisian wine 'caves' and the recent popularity of tiny, low-key drinking haunts popping up in London, Forest Wines has opened a kitchen, bar and bottle shop in Walthamstow.

Taking over a former estate agents located next to the shop, the intimate haunt has a rustic feel, featuring one large communal table and a wall full of different wines. To drink? The menu is in the same vein as the bottles for sale, with an emphasis on natural and biodynamic choices along with a selection of local craft beers.

The kitchen is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays, serving a selection of meat-fuelled and veggie-friendly small plates with a French flair. Expect items such as braised and seared belly pork, mussels and dark chocolate mousse.
