Wun's Tea Room & Bar

Description

The husband and wife team behind Bun House are opening a new Hong Kong-inspired eatery in Soho.

Wun's Tea Room & Bar is set to emulate 1960s Hong Kong and is inspired by co-founder Z's childhood in the territory. The two-storey space will include a bright and breezy ground floor, with street tables and folding doors, while downstairs is a slick den paying homage to HK's thriving nightlife, with neon signs, velvet furnishings and an eclectic playlist of go-go music.

Food and drink is inspired by Z's youth, with a long list of nostalgic and family dishes to work through. Tuck into gran's sour plum braised duck, XO bone marrow, and sweets such as Hong Kong egg tarts. To wash it all down, the cocktail list focuses on more unusual Chinese spirits; expect tipples such as Green Bamboo & Quince which mixes bamboo fenjiu, pue’er tea liqueur, fresh quince and mango. Beer is also sourced from Asia, as Wun's works with small scale brewers including Moonzen and Young Master.
