TACO WARS RETURNS TO STREET FEAST
Taco lovers of London, the wait is over – Street Feast is bringing back its legendary Taco Wars event after an absence of five years.
Eight of London’s most influential restaurants and taquerias will compete for a £2,500 prize and the Corona Cup at Dinerama on Tuesday 21 May (5pm-midnight). Each trader has been asked to create one sensational taco worthy of being crowned “Britain’s Best Taco” and you could be one of the taco fans voting for the winner.
Tickets are on sale NOW priced at £40, which includes eight tacos – one from each trader competing – plus an ice cream taco, a bottle of Corona and a Patron Chilliback. You can either keep that lot to yourself, or share with a friend.
Two former winners are in the line-up: defending champions Breddos (2014), as well as 2013 victors Luardos. Those veterans will battle a strong field: Club Mexicana will be on hand with a vegan option made in collaboration with Neil Rankin of Temper, while Santo Remedio will bring the celebrated flavours of their London Bridge restaurant. White Men Can’t Jerk are set to produce a goat taco using meat sourced from award-winning suppliers Cabrito and Elote are offering the flair and flavours of Mexico through their gluten-free menu. Chin Chin Labs will use their signature liquid nitrogen ice cream to create a dessert taco.
The final line-up and full menu will be revealed on Street Feast’s social media accounts (@streetfeastldn) in the coming days.
