Description
Bar Valette is the latest gem from Isaac McHale, the chef behind The Clove Club, and it’s tucked away on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch. With just 40 seats, this intimate bistro-style spot blends Southern French charm with Spanish flair, all wrapped up in a relaxed, neighbourhood vibe.
The interiors are understated but stylish, and feature paper-topped tables, soft bistro curtains, and original plaster walls adorned with modern art by the likes of William Scott and Sam Francis.
What sets Bar Valette apart is its laid-back approach to seriously good food. The menu leans into McHale’s love for Mediterranean simplicity, with a focus on shareable plates and bar snacks inspired by the pintxos bars of San Sebastián.
The restaurant has already earned a spot in the 2025 Michelin Guide, a nod to its quality and the pedigree of its team.
