Levan

Description

The second restaurant from the team behind Brixton's Salon, Peckham restaurant Levan sits back-to-back with Peckham Rye Station on the site of the former Peckham Refreshment Rooms. Serving up contemporary European cuisine, this bar and restaurant totes chic interiors and delicious dishes.

Opening in time for breakfast, early risers will find a tasty selection of freshly-baked pastries and quality coffee, alongside heatier offerings of sourdough tartines and croque monsieur. Lunch too is a relaxed affair, with salads, bistro-style plates and even a potato, cheese and chanterelle pie. Dinner is the main event though, as evening brings hefty plates of smoked pollock and 50-day-aged rump cap, alongside snack-size dishes, like the mouthwatering Comté fries and saffron aioli and a delicate cod crudo.

Committed to sustainability, Levan re-purposes and resuses 90% of its waste, alongside butchering whole animals and sourcing as much of its produce from local suppliers. It extends this philosophy to its bar, which features low-intervention wine list which is primarily sourced from the Jura region of France, and a small selection of bespoke cocktails made with botanicals and tinctures from the Levan kitchen garden.
