Part bar‑café, part late‑night hangout, Dishoom’s London outpost of its Permit Room concept channels the easygoing energy of Bombay’s historic drinking rooms while remaining rooted in the rhythm of Notting Hill life. 

The space unfolds across multiple floors, each with its own character. Downstairs is bright and sociable, a place for early coffees, lazy breakfasts and impromptu drinks, while the first floor leans more dining‑room - warmer, moodier, and designed to linger over shared plates and clinking glasses. Throughout, the interiors balance nostalgia and modernity: dark wood, rattan textures and an art‑filled backdrop that nods to South Asian culture without tipping into pastiche. 

Food is served all day and resists rigid categorisation. Breakfast might mean naan rolls or indulgent French toast with a smoky, spiced edge; later, the menu moves into chaat, bar snacks and familiar Dishoom signatures designed for sharing rather than ceremony. The drinks list is where Permit Room really asserts its personality: cocktails are bold, playful and meticulously made, sitting alongside local beers, thoughtful no‑ and low‑alcohol options, and house chai for those easing into (or out of) the day.

As the evening rolls in, the tempo shifts.
