What they say:

Not satisfied with eleven fine-dining restaurants in Hong Kong, the team at Duddell's is spreading the word, opening its first overseas site in London Bridge. Taking over the historic St Thomas' Church, the restaurant will focus on delivering authentic Cantonese dishes, made using fresh ingredients and the same recipes that have made the Duddell's name a global big hitter. Matching the work of its sister venues, Duddell's London will have its finger on the pulse of the capital's art scene, hosting regular art showcases and studio events throughout the year.

What we say:

Make no mistake, this is gigantic news! Michelin stars are few and far between, yet the Duddell's restaurant in Hong Kong has two to its name. Chef Daren Liew will be in charge of the kitchen in their new London Bridge site. With over20 years of experience under his belt and having previous been the Executive Sous Chef at the Hakkasan restaurant group, he'll undoubtedly create hand-crafted dim sum and authentic Cantonese dishes that easily match the Duddell's lofty standards. And that's not even mentioning the building. With plans for a mezzanine level and holding onto many of the church's original, three hundred year-old features, the team couldn't have chosen a better spot for their first overseas venture. Be excited London.
