The Aubrey

Description

Tucked away beneath the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, The Aubrey is a moody, glamorous take on a traditional Japanese izakaya. Think plush velvet sofas, marble-topped bars, dim lighting and walls lined with over 250 pieces of Japonisme-inspired art. The space is a maze of lounges, salons and a cosy library, each with its own personality, perfect for date nights, catch-ups or a bit of late-night indulgence.

Food here leans on Edomae-style sushi, robata-grilled bites and tempura – all headed up by Miho Sato, one of the UK’s only female sushi masters. But it’s the cocktails that really steal the show, with London’s first Omakase cocktail bar tucked away in the back, seating just six lucky guests for a completely personalised drinks experience.

The Aubrey has scooped up plenty of awards, including an AA Rosette for its culinary chops. It’s open late (until 1am midweek and 2am on weekends), making it one of the swishest spots in London for after-dark dining and drinks.
