Macellaio RC South Kensington

Macellaio RC South Kensington is a bold and theatrical Italian steakhouse, sister to its other sites in Soho and Exmouth Market. At the front of the restaurant, it feels like a rustic Italian butchers, with exposed brick walls, vintage butcher tools, and dramatic lighting that highlights the centrepiece: a butcher’s counter where premium cuts are prepared in full view of diners. There's a small smattering of tables here, where you can enjoy a unique, immersive dining feel. At the back, and downstairs, you'll find more intimate dining spaces, with low lighting, quirky artworks (including a chandelier that appears to have crashed down, a fantastic touch) and a warm atmosphere.

The restaurant showcases Fassona beef from Piedmont and Marango beef from the Lake District, dry-aged in-house for maximum flavour. Founded by Roberto Costa, Macellaio RC is more than a steakhouse - it’s a celebration of Italian craftsmanship, sustainability, and nose-to-tail dining. Costa’s background as a butcher and restaurateur informs the menu, which features bold, meat-forward dishes alongside Ligurian specialties and their famous beef fat candles.
