Description
Teal by Sally Abé is a small British bistro on Hackney’s Wilton Way, marking the first solo restaurant from acclaimed chef Sally Abé. The restaurant champions seasonal British produce through a menu that combines classic foundations with refined technique, delivering dishes that feel familiar but more polished and considered. Abé has built her reputation in some of the UK's most respected kitchens, including The Ledbury, Claridge's, The Savoy, The Harwood Arms and The Pem, bringing serious culinary credentials to a relaxed neighbourhood setting.
Inside, Teal balances cosy bistro charm with contemporary design. Expect bottle-green tones, marble-topped tables, vintage furnishings, brass lamps and thoughtfully curated artwork, creating an intimate dining room that feels welcoming rather than formal. With space for just a small number of guests, the atmosphere is personal and local, while the open, unfussy approach to hospitality keeps the focus firmly on the food.
Since opening, it has attracted significant critical attention, earning a place in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 UK Restaurants list and receiving strong praise from leading food critics. Named after Abé's favourite native game bird, Teal showcases her passion for British cuisine, nostalgic flavours and high-quality produce, all served in a warm, approachable neighbourhood restaurant.
