The Dusty Knuckle

Description

The Dusty Knuckle Bakery, co-founded by Daisy Terry, Rebecca Oliver and Max Tobias, is a café that was born to support underprivileged young people looking for work. Starting life in a 40ft shipping container, it’s now laid down its roots in a converted Dalston car park, baking some of the freshest bread in the capital and providing it to top restaurants, alongside whipping up Insta-famous sandwiches in the process.

The shabby-chic location can be found only a moment's walk from Dalston Kingsland station, tucked away behind the main road. Transformed into a social dining area, the concrete space is covered in roofed decking, fairy lights and plenty of the London staple: potted plants.

A mouthwatering sandwich rotation trumps the menu and is what makes this spot so famous - passers-by can wolf down fillings of masala cauliflower or smashed cucumber with labneh and walnut sauce, plus beef birria smothered in melted cheese, sour cream and pickles. Sourdough pizzas are also up for munching, boasting one topped with parma ham and figs, as well as a classic margherita.

In addition to marvellous food, it cultivates talent by running baking and cooking classes on a daily basis, ranging from kimchi, kraut and pickling sessions to pasta workshops.
