A true neighbourhood gem in Dalston, Corrochio’s is the passionate creation of Guadalajara-born chef Daniel Carrillo and his wife, Amy McQuarrie. After years spent perfecting the art of hospitality, from running the iconic Ruby’s cocktail lounge to hosting cult-favorite residencies, Daniel launched this namesake eatery to bridge the gap between regional Mexican gastronomy and London’s world-class mixology scene. What began as an intimate basement hideaway has recently expanded into a grand, light-filled ground-floor space, complete with a charming terrace and a late-night energy that captures the warmth of a Mexican hacienda.

The kitchen at Corrochio’s is a no-shortcuts operation, where traditional techniques meet diverse regional recipes. The menu travels from the streets of Mexico City to the coasts of Jalisco, featuring standout Gobernador (prawn and octopus) tacos, rich beef birria, and gargantuan tortas served on cloud-soft telera bread. Weekend brunch is a local ritual, fueled by spicy chilaquiles and a 'Pico Back (a bold mezcal shot chased with jalapeño brine).

Because of Daniel’s background as a trained mixologist, the drinks are as essential as the food, boasting an expertly researched collection of rare agave spirits like sotol and raicilla, alongside some of the spiciest margaritas in the capital.

Beyond the plates, Corrochio’s functions as a multi-layered destination for the community. The ground-floor Cocina offers a vibrant dining experience, while the original basement has evolved into the Cantina, a bustling late-night den where DJs spin until the early hours.
