Cosy, buzzy and effortlessly cool, Ploussard is a neighbourhood gem tucked just off Battersea Rise, bringing Parisian bistro energy to south London with a modern edge. Named after the French grape variety, the space sets the scene with an open kitchen, warm wooden tones and a lively, come‑as‑you‑are atmosphere that makes it just as appealing for a midweek catch‑up as it is for a polished date night. The kitchen is headed by chef Matt Harris, best known as one half of the duo behind cult fried chicken outfit Other Side Fried, alongside co‑founder Tommy Kempton. Here, the focus shifts to modern European cooking with a strong French lean, built around seasonal, weekly‑changing plates designed for sharing. Expect bold flavours delivered with confidence: think standout dishes like lamb and anchovy crumpet or perfectly cooked fish finished with rich, punchy sauces, all balanced by a thoughtful list of low‑intervention wines.
