This mysterious new late night cocktail bar and restaurant, in Clapham, is a great venue for those sordid sojourns in the evenings. Open late throughout the week and until 3am at the weekend, get down and jiggy with a gaggle of mates or tumble in after work with your co-workers for a buzzing night.

Serving deadly cocktails inspired by the Sax Rohmer book titles, expect tantalizing titles such as The Kiss of Death and Mancho's Mind Control, made from exciting blends of Asian spices and Chinese teas. Soak up all that potent alcohol with an extensive selection of steamed dumplings and enjoy those exotic flavours.

Top it all off with a dance floor, some great DJ sets and regular live music and you have a decadent den for your weekly/nightly/daily mischief. Head south of the river and let loose.

Very very very poor, I will never go back to this place and I don't suggest anybody to go to this restaurant or bar. The Dim Sum they offer are so bad, are freeze and not fresh, they have nothing to do with Chinese dim sum, if you are expecting to try some real dim sum, don't never go to this place. The Dim Sum they serve are cold inside, and when you order one dish and they just bring whatever they want to serve. And they are very very very slow. I have never been this kind of restaurant before, such a bad experience. I feel so bad after eat their food. really disgusting

Me and my girlfriend went on suday for all day buffet, I must say I had some good choices there, also some of them weren't the bedt, but I guess thats personal opinion. Overall I think great food for great deal. visited Fu Manchu Bar on 16 Oct 2016

Perfect for a noisy mums night out. 18 of us enjoyed cocktails, lots of dim sum to share and wine too. Nice big table and not cramped. visited Fu Manchu Bar on 12 Oct 2016

This was the 7/8th time I had been to Fu Manchu in as many months but by far the worse experience. I'm not sure if management has changed but the service was sub par. Extremely slow and not at all attentive. We were served by all new waitresses. The girl who normally serves us (not sure of her name - long black hair) has always been great but was serving on the other side unfortunately. For a place I always rave about to my friends (I also drive an hour to get there), I was extremely disappointed and so was my friend who visiting for the first time. The new menu isn't as good as the previous menu either so that too was a let down. visited Fu Manchu Bar on 09 Oct 2016

Booked an area in the bar for a friend's birthday. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Kate (Supervisor) who stayed behind after she finished work to help prepare the cake etc. Got there too late for food, but one of the chefs sorted out a portion of Dim Sum (delicious) for me. Manager on duty was lovely too (didn't catch his name but deserves a mention). Would definitely visit again!

Went for their Sunday Dimsum Buffet. Very very slow service. It took them 15 mins to bring out the first dish of 4 micro dumplings. And they were overcooked - skin broke straight away when we tried to pick them up with chopsticks, filling dropped out. Then it took even longer when the place was filled up 30 mins later. Next to impossible to bring us the 2nd round of food we ordered. Also the fried dishes were all very very greasy. In fact, my friends were saying that the bad ones were much worse than the worst ones in Chinatown. Then one of them found out on his way to the bathroom that none of kitchen staff were Asian! Really?!?! Trying to prepare Cantonese "tapas"(which is actually very intricate for most Chinese!) without having any asian kitchen staff?? We ended up getting the bill without waiting for all of the food we ordered. Bottom line: It's a funky place if you want to get a drink and get smashed with your friends. Just don't have any expectation for the food like we did. To be honest, when you drunk, it doesn't matter what the food taste like. Go to Chinatown if you want tasty dimsum. Or somewhere like Yauatcha, Hakkasan if you don't mind spending a bit more. David visited Fu Manchu Bar on 11 Sep 2016

Love this place! The Dim Sum here is amazing and the staff are lovely. Its great anytime, fun and relaxed by day, dark and cosy for a cheeky bit of romance or lively DJ vibe for a big Saturday night. All you can eat on Sunday - oh yes!

Dim Sum lunch...probably a good night-time venue but definitely not good for day. Dark, dank and smelly. Empty and no atmosphere at all. Deal was good but 12-4 bottomless brunch really misleading as if you read the small print, it's for a max of 2 hours in that time frame. missmoo visited Fu Manchu Bar on 02 Jul 2016

I booked this for a prosecco and dim sum brunch deal. Firstly, they emailed me a few days before my booking to say that due to "unforeseen circumstances" they had to move out reservation from 2pm to 6pm or to another day. We were offered two more dim sum dishes each as a gesture of good will but seeing as the dim sum was poor, this was pretty pointless. On entering, the venue was derelict with staff not even noting we had come in. When a man behind the bar shouted "DOOR", it still took the couple standing right in front of us at the desk a few moments to finish what they were doing before even acknowledging us. When we finally sat down, we were confined to a small corner of the rather spacious venue and right next to the ONLY TABLE OF OTHER DINERS. I asked if we could move to a table that wasn't so uncomfortably close seeing as no one else was there but unsurprisingly they said no. The waitress was lovely but at the beginning had no idea what on earth the deal was about and first asked me to forward my email and then wanted to take my phone to the manager so she could see the deal. After the initial commotion, the prosecco was indeed free flowing as we were given a bottle and could ask for more. The dim sum for me, as somewhat of a dim sum enthusiast, was poor. It tasted mass produced and some were simply bad. I think that if you hadn't eaten dim sum before, it wouldn't be as much of an issue but wouldn't be anything to write home about. The overall experience was such that we didn't even wait for our two hours to finish to drink out prosecco as we were both happy to just get out of there. jasmineria visited Fu Manchu Bar on 25 Jun 2016

Food was delicious, really enjoyed it. Slightly disappointed the restaurant didn't listen to my request of a bottle of prosecco on arrival for my boyfriends birthday, however cocktails were great! Would deffo go again.

Not happy with this place... I paid 50 pounds deposit for just my table which they said to mii I can use for my end pay which they didn't. Not even a bottle or anything to give for a birthday Very rushed which is not good.... Want my money bk to be fair cuz I didn't use it...

Beautiful venue, lovely selection of cocktails which are well made and beautifully presented. Amazing service. Unfortunately, this was a place for pre-drinks that evening and would have like to have stayed to have found out what the club night would have been like... it looked promising. charms visited Fu Manchu Bar on 28 May 2016

Really cool bar. I went on a Friday and it was quite empty which was the only downside, but still fun. I want to come here for their dim sum Sundays.

I booked a table / are for 30 people for Saturday 7th. Was pleasantly welcomed by the waiter and provided with great staff to take orders for food. What was disappointing was the assurance that I was given during the lead up to the dinner was that the venue could accomodate 'big groups' and the advice given about providing advanced orders wasn't needed. During the evening, the serving of food was shambolic and unorganised with food orders just being laid on table, only a few menu cards were given out which was confusing for my party. I suspect we were over charged for the food as there was no logic to the service. I appreciate the efforts from the waiters / waitresses as they did their best. My quarrel is with the management and the assurances that were provided in writing led me to believe it would be a seamless affair. This really dampened the evening as some people didn't even get food they'd ordered. I'm yet to communicate my concerns directly with restaurant. I am conflicted in my review as I and others in my party had a good night, the venue was great and atmosphere along with the staff we interacted with were on point too. As previously mentioned, the confidence that I initially had leading up to my birthday was good and unfortunately they didn't deliver which I believe is fundamentally down to how the team were managed and the direct they were given. A lovely place with wonderful service, great food and atmosphere. Band was a little to loud but it was a Friday night and almost party time. If you are looking for a good place to start you night off I would definitely recommend this place.

I had a booking for myself and 30 friends on Saturday night for a leaving party. When we arrived the doorman was exceptionally rude. Wouldn't let one of my friends in and accused him of looking like he had taken drugs! The place was far too smokey and the music too loud and we were made to wait outside to queue but actually when we went in it was dead. We stayed about 15 minutes before all leaving.

Went there for a friends birthday, great food, great music, great drinks and fab service. The music was really loud though so it made it a bit hard to chat. But it's such a great dim sum place. Would defo go back!! riih0129 visited Fu Manchu Bar on 22 Apr 2016

I honestly had such a good time. My Boyfriend and I went to dinner here the other night to celebrate a fabulous new job offer I received. We were greeted at the door by the lovely hostess, with 1 minute past Happy Hour she still allowed us to get a few cocktails which was so lovely of her. The cocktails were delicious. Being Taiwanese myself, I know a good dimsum place when I see one and this has to be one of the best I have been to in London. The food ( although a little pricey) was really delicious. We ended up ordering 12 Dim Sum dishes which was a little much but so tasty. The bill wasn't overly priced once we got our Happy Hour discount. The atmosphere was great, especially the lighting. We were there on live music night and were sitting at the back of the room which was still a little too loud. All in all, I'm definitely going back... thinking I might organise my Birthday drinks there. ChristinaCallaghan visited Fu Manchu Bar on 13 Apr 2016

If it weren’t for its location and décor, this would be an average Dim-Sum joint at best. Unfortunately the aforementioned location and décor only really boost it up to a marginally above average Dim-Sum joint. The safe menu will leave you uninspired, the food will leave you indifferent and the bill will leave you wishing you had tried somewhere else. On a more positive note, the waitress was a gem! I have no doubt it makes for a good night out but perhaps a little more adventure on the menu. Sam visited Fu Manchu Bar on 25 Feb 2016

We were invited to this sister bar by The Jam Tree in Clapham to continue my sister's birthday celebration. In short, the interior design is awesome and we were given a glass of Prosecco on arrival. It was pretty empty for a Friday night but that's understandable with new places, however the reason why all 10 of us left after an hour was the DJ and his really outdated music. Sorry but if you want people to stay then change your DJ or at least play something from the 21st century and not 90's. It just didn't make sense / didn't really fit the environment / atmosphere.

Gave these guys a go last week and was so impressed. Not only was our waitress such a peach, the food was amazing. Veggie and prawn dim sum combined, the dishes are so accessible to those a little unsure about Asian food. And not to spicy for a glorified wimp like me. Cocktails awesome too, a little on the expensive side but reflective of a clapham meal at about £9/10 a pop

Only a round the corner from Clapham North station this is a fabulous bar! The service was exceptional from start to finish. I arrived a bit early, so early that I was only the customer there but the bartender kept me amused whilst I was waiting for a friend to arrive. He even gave my second drink on the house (this may have been out of pity perhaps him thinking I was stood up - either way, it was a very kind gesture). When my friend did arrive we were taken to our reserved table and ordered 4 dim sum dishes. All very tasty! The staff throughout the remainder of the night were very attentive without being overbearing. Special mention needs to go out to Natasha was simply amazing as well as one of the kitchen staff as well (whose name I didn't get) but his gentle ribbing of me being unable to use the chopsticks kept us all amused for the night. The icing on the night was being given some fortune cookies after our meal but these fortune cookies offer something a little bit special - a free cocktail or 20% off your next meal or a free beer, etc... a very novel take on the fortune cookie concept! My friend and I were lucky to indulge 2 fabulously free delicious cocktails. The place has a really good vibe about, significantly contributed to in a big part by the very friendly staff, especially Natasha! And to boot with that, a Happy Hour between 9pm-11pm?! What's not to like? Highly recommended!

We stopped here for cocktails as it's new in the neighbourhood. I was impressed with the cocktail menu as it had an original selection (if you like chilies then try the Green Dragon). However it was the great atmosphere and service that the bar staff created that would make me return.
