POLPO Smithfield

POLPO is a bàcaro. This is a Venetian word to describe a humble restaurant serving simple food and good, young Italian wines. They offer tasty small plates, Prosecco and Spritz in a setting that reflects the gloriously faded elegance of Venice, and the charms of its backstreet wine bars.

POLPO loves PARTIES. A special occasion means that things need to be done a certain way. It’s YOUR party and they want to make sure everything is perfect. The team knows that the little details make the difference between a ‘good’ party or a great do that will be talked about forever.

Beneath the Smithfield restaurant, past the glowing neon sign, you will find the Negroni Bar. The Victorian glazed walls (this was once a storage facility for the nearby meat market) and 120 year-old bar are the slightly naughty destination of many a Negroni connoisseur. Other drinks are available, as are tasty bar snacks, but it would be churlish to ignore the signs and order anything other than the perfect ménage-a-trois of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. The Negroni Bar can accommodate up to 30 people for an informal drinks party.

They are available for a private whole hire, the restaurant is hugely adaptable and can be suitable for sit down meals for up to 70, or drink parties for up to 120! They do Cocktail Masterclasses too!
