From the same minds who brought us The Rooftop Cafe, The Bermondsey Yard Cafe is an exciting new project that boasts a charming atmosphere, lovingly-crafted dishes and a cracking choice of ales, wines and spirits.

Step inside this venue and you'll get an unmistakable 'pop-up' vibe; The Bermondsey Yard Cafe stands in a spot that up until recently, was a derelict, unused car park. The site has been stripped back, exposing raw materials contrasted against pops of colour and reclaimed furniture. The result? A charming, flexible space that's perfect for both work and play. It boasts an open-plan kitchen, a charmingly-rugged wooden bar, and a brand new outside space that's used for alfresco wining and dining, outdoor cinema events and pop-up restaurants. Dwelling in the shadows of The Shard, The Bermondsey Yard Cafe is a heavenly oasis hidden away from London’s bustling streets.

The food here really speaks for itself. Dishes are crafted with real care by a team of chefs that use sustainable British ingredients to create sumptuous seasonal menus. On top of some cracking grub, there is a carefully curated drinks menu that boasts a fine selection of tipples.

Bermondsey Yard Cafe - London Cocktail Bar Review

Bermondsey Yard Cafe - London Cocktail Bar Review

I’m a sucker for central London. When I say sucker, I mean any excuse to venture past zone 3 - I’m on it. When I got wind of Bermondsey Yard Café’s opening last December, I knew I had my next excuse to visit the heart...

Great night. Staff looked after us well. Good music and we enjoyed the Craft Neer Tent. visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 15 Oct 2016

My previous visits were great - food just a bit different than elsewhere, fantastic service. Disappointed on my last visit - food same old (burgers, etc) and sporadic service. dlondon visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 05 Oct 2016

Visited on Saturday night (24th), and had booked in advance as I know how busy it gets from a previous visit, although the restaurant wasn't too crowded as we arrived. Overall I wood say the food was as good as ever - but I was really shocked at the service. All very friendly, but very slow; we were ignored at key points re ordering our first drink, ordering our food, waiting for the bill, and then we ended up heading to the wait station to pay our bill as we waited so long. While it got busier, it didn't seem that staff were rushed off their feet - saw them chatting among themselves/getting drinks etc., which is fine, but should be done when tables aren't waiting. Will think twice about going back on this basis - while the food was great - it really impacts your enjoyment when you're getting frustrated at being ignored. Great organization and lovely staff, had a great day for my bday celebration there. A very nice and relaxed athmosphere in the covered yard outside, good drinks and food. Recommended for any occasion!

This is really a lovely venue but unfortunately the service and organization really lets it down- I made a group booking with a pre order for 15 people but when we arrived the area had not been set up, the staff looked really blank and we were left standing around . With the food- the place was stacked full of dirty plates and I ended up clearing my table all evening of empty plates and glasses myself. Not once did a waiter come over- I was serving the pizzas myself from the chef! I was told the food would be promptly at 6pm but at 6.20 I asked the chef and he said was waiting for the go ahead- again the staff hadn't communicated the pre order or details from the function sheet. I will say the bar staff were fantastic and lovely- there was only one member of staff, a young, male, glass collector who was shockingly rude and shoving guests out the way. This place has great potential but haven't got it quite right yet. I would certainly give it another go but not for a large group Melody visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 08 Sep 2016

I really want to be able to give BYC a positive rating but I just feel they fell short in so many basic areas. Issues with our brunch for two was: - Coffees didn’t come until mains were served, despite asking for them twice and the place being relatively empty - Overdone poached eggs, you need a runny yolk people! - Food was just a bit average. Just little touches like a wedge of lemon would have helped. Staff were pleasant enough but given the range of brilliant places to have brunch in London, and indeed the Bermondsey area, I won’t be returning I’m afraid. I actually don't like leaving negative reviews, but all my friends had a bad taste in their mouth after leaving this place! I came here one Saturday a few weeks ago and had a great time having a drink in the garden, so wanted to come back and take my friends who are visiting for dinner. Food was cold, service was poor, I think staff are not trained and nobody seems to care much. It took 4-5 times of asking to get the bill and we had been charged wrong, so it took ages to sort it out as well. I can deal with a bad service if food is great or other way around, but in this instance unfortunately nothing was great.,.,

We had our staff summer party here for around 60 people on a Friday evening and I cannot rate the venue highly enough. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout the night and the food was amazing. They made the organisation of the event very easy. The manager on the was brilliant as was the events and marketing contact. I definitely recommend going there! lucywork visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 15 Jul 2016

The venue is great. On paper it has everything you could ask for. In practice they failed in so many ways. They didn't put on enough staff to cover the number of people I booked for, with people queuing for half an hour just to get served. The area they gave me wasn't big enough and they overbooked on tables where they said we could spill out on to. They stopped serving all food at 10pm, and I had to get into an argument with the manager to convince him to turn on the air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the year. To which he shrugged and said "That's June in London for you" The poor experience ruined the night for me. Mital visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 23 Jul 2016

Amazing venue. Booked the outside area for 50 people and it was perfect (Could have had 100 in it) Food was great. Reasonable pricing. DJ was very good too. Big screen with the football on was a good touch too nterritt visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 07 Jul 2016

A bit slow to get attention, but when we did they were very attentive to our needs. Interesting food. Friendly staff. A great place for after work gatherings or parties.

The food tasted great (I had the burger) and the cocktails were top notch! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Really cool venue too, I couldn't fault the place and I highly recommend. chrisgg visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 24 May 2016

We had booked a table for 5 people at 8:30 on a Thursday night, having had great recommendations. A few of us turned up on time and weren't offered drinks until everyone had arrived. At the same time we were informed one of the dishes had already sold out, and by the time our drinks came they'd also run out of another dish. With only 4 mains on the menu, that was half of it gone, including burgers which are the go-to staple for many people. It may have been a busy night prior to our arrival as it was sunny and a Thursday, but it wasn't that late and the dining room was only about two thirds full when we were there. In the end the slow service and general attitude of the staff is what cinched it for us, they weren't particularly helpful or apologetic so we decided to finish our drinks and go somewhere else for food.

We were so impressed. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even when we asked to move our large table of people outside. Their patio is an undiscovered treasure in Bermondsey. Thanks so much!

Came here a few weeks back. To be honest I wasn't expecting a whole lot - I had a creep on Facebook and couldn't see much, as they had just opened up. Well, everything from the service to the food was spot on. Definitely planning a trip back! Goes to show you not to judge a Facebook profile by its cover!

It really is one of the best places on Bermondsey Street. As we were leaving the chefs were plating up an incredible looking dish, I wish we could have stayed! Wine is great, atmosphere and ambience are lovely and I would highly recommend it. ellesbelles visited Bermondsey Yard Cafe on 16 Feb 2016

As expected, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here.. these guys never fail to satisfy and their transition from the Rooftop Cafe to this new venture has stepped up a huge mark for them... delicious food, great portions, and superb variety on the menu.. this has become one of my favorite food venues in London..
