Prepare to have your January Blues promptly blasted away by four top comedians hand picked by Comedy Paradise for your laughter and pleasure.
Tonight's Headliner Desiree Burch is a comedian, writer, solo performer, actor and NY-to-London transplant. She has been seen on ‘Have I Got News For You’ (BBC), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC), ‘Frankie Boyle’s American Autopsy’ (BBC), ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4) and ‘Before the Morning After’ (NBC/SeeSo). She’s been heard on ‘The News Quiz’ (BBCR4) and as the voice of Pamela Winchell on #1 international hit podcast ‘Welcome to Night Vale’, as well as other podcasts such as ‘The Guilty Feminist’, ‘Made of Human’, ‘Dumb White Guy’, ‘Friends Like Us’ and ‘Writing Excuses’. Her past two solo Edinburgh Shows ‘This is Evolution’ and ‘Unf*ckable’ have been sell out hits at the Fringe, with extra shows by popular demand and both transferred to London's Soho Theatre.
'An eye-catching show from a comedian deservedly on the rise' The Guardian
'A funny, frank, eloquent, entertaining and perceptive raconteur' The Scotsman
Support comes from Jim Campbell who's Edinburgh Fringe Show this summer talked about love, a nervous breakdown and how hard it is to sell an engagement ring. It might sound a bit depressing but his shows are actually packed with gags! Jim is a co-presenter on the hugely popular podcast The Football Ramble and is co-author of the critically acclaimed book of the same name.
'Charmingly fresh... an hour in Campbell's company will leave you entertained and enlightened' **** List
'A superb example of how to craft a technically accomplished, winningly performed piece of comedy' **** Fest
"Punchlines are laugh-out-loud thanks to the clarity and originality of his thinking" Chortle
And Hatty Ashdown who's an accomplished stand up comic, actress, writer and presenter. Hatty co-wrote the Comedy Central sitcom 'Give Out Girls', is resident host of the original mother and baby comedy comedy club 'Screaming With Laughter' and presents 'The Other Woman' show on Soho Radio.
Comedy Paradise is hosted by resident MC (and local resident) the award-winning US comedian Taylor Glenn. Taylor is a writer, stand up and co-host of the hit podcast 'Drunk Women Solving Crime'.
'Like seeing your life translated into funny' FEST
