Description

Proudly overlooking the beautiful Peckham Rye Park, The Clock House is a newly refurbished East Dulwich pub that offers a comfortable alternative to the high energy bars in this up and coming area. Decked out with a stylish and modern interior, this borderline-suburban pub offers an open coal fire, hardwood flooring and whitewashed brick to keep the aesthetic eye at ease.

The Clock House is a second home for locals whilst attracting guests from further afield, and with both indoor and outdoor areas for drinking and dining, this East Dulwich pub is the perfect place to meet up with friends or bring the family for a Sunday lunch. Food is served all day, with a separate Sunday menu dishing up a range of succulent roasts and smaller plates to soothe any appetite.

Upstairs behind a bookcase is a drinking den like no other, Blake's. With delicious hand crafted cocktails and fantastic craft beers available it provides a more intimate setting than downstairs. Hosting a range of unique events and showing all key matches on the large HD projector screen, this space is great for cocktails with friends or a catch up with mates over a juicy burger and a refreshing craft beer.

Fantastic! We hired blakes during the day and staff couldn't have been more helpful or relaxed. They left us to it and were simply great. The room is also gorgeous and they let us decorate it how we wished. can't recommend it enough if you want a lovely cosy place to have a party. Victoria visited The Clock House on 13 May 2017

This is one of my local pubs , especially nice to go to on a sunny day , BUT i was a bit disappointed yesterday , the wine selection that was available was i think 3 white wines , they also ran out of Aspall cider and it wasnt even 2pm , come on guys lift your game . there seemed not a lot of direction and management behind the bar. visited The Clock House on 02 Apr 2017

We've visited the Clock House on many occasions over the years but must admit to being very disappointed with the overall service on Mothers' Day (2017). I fully appreciate that it's one of their busiest days, but it took over 45 minutes for anyone to come over to take our order and when the food did finally arrive it was an hour and a half after we'd arrived (including the meals for the kids). A simple "sorry for the delay" or "please bear with us today as we're busy" would have been appreciated. visited The Clock House on 26 Mar 2017

Service was decent if not slightly on the slow side - main meal was distinctly average. Starter was nice - probably wouldn't describe this as a gastro-pub though. visited The Clock House on 24 Mar 2017

Such a lovely place. The food was great, as was the atmosphere. And that staff are simply delightful. Will go there lots and lots. Thanks The Clock House! visited The Clock House on 25 Mar 2017

Have been here a few times for Sunday lunch. The vegetarian option is now butternut squash stuffed with chopped mushrooms, spinach and red peppers. It really needs some flavouring as it ends up pretty tasteless. And, on this occasion, the butternut squash was not properly cooked. Then I had the rhubarb and ginger syllabus which was just odd. And not in a pleasant way. The only nice thing was the rhubarb in the bottom of the glass. The rest of the concoction was inedible! Service was pretty slow as well, although polite enough. visited The Clock House on 19 Mar 2017

Although the food here was delicious, we had great trouble with the service. It took 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us to show us to our table even though we were quite a big group, standing awkwardly by the door. Then we selected a wine and they said they didn't have that one as there was a stock take that week (!) This happened FIVE more times. Eventually we had to just say "bring us a bottle of something you do have"...only to find that when we tried to order another one, that was the last bottle so we just gave up on the wine. Someone came over to take our food order but then they said they needed to get something as they weren't actually ready to take the order....half an hour later she still hadn't returned to take our order. This was all very disappointing as we had brought guests who had travelled far to be there and then their return journey was majorly delayed because of the poor service. The food was wonderful but we won't be coming here again or recommending the pub to anyone who lives in the area like us. visited The Clock House on 26 Feb 2017

We went for a family birthday celebration this weekend and as usual the Clock House never fails to deliver! We precooked and we were given the 'SNUG' which was an ideal location given we had two young kids. The food, service and overall level of ambience was absolutely superb!I cant give enough praise to this establishment! We will be back soon again!!thomas😀 visited The Clock House on 28 Jan 2017

Sunday Roast: One slice of Beef (described as sirloin), Four Roast Potatoes, Kale with hard stalks. Fifteen Quid! Add to that 10 (yes TEN) babies and small children under the age of four, making a right old racket. There are so many local options that this is not one I will repeat visited The Clock House on 22 Jan 2017

Admittedly we arrived over an hour early prior to our booking and the staff were very nice and got us a table straight away. However, after waiting 20 minutes to get our drinks we were then told that three of the main meals on the menu had run out. Our food took another half an hour to arrive. The food was ok pub grub. Several of our party drank Guinness but it was of poor quality. There didn't seem to be enough staff and the toilets weren't clean. Overall very disappointed as we've had much better experiences previously. visited The Clock House on 28 Dec 2016

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Service was slow (albeit we were delayed as the trains were very temperamental as was accepted but the manager). The food was distinctly below average and even though a discount was applied it was still over priced in my opinion. I gave the pub plenty of notice that there would be a large group of us and sent pre-order way in advance to make sure everything went smoothly. It didn't. I won't recommend this pub and won't be revisiting. visited The Clock House on 18 Dec 2016

Food underwhelming - pork belly underseasoned and fat not properly rendered. Vege dish good - but not the one ordered. Waiting staff lovely. 45 minute wait for food -poor. Our 6 month old lab puppy found an unopened bag of rat poison under the table - only luck that she hadn't eaten it - and would have certainly died . Bad,but could have been a child. Manager's lame response - but we only use traps - irrelevant - there was RAT POISON under the table in a restaurant !! This should not happen. visited The Clock House on 13 Nov 2016
