Owl and Hitchhiker
Description
Formerly The Edward Lear, this pub has undergone a complete transformation to become The Owl and Hitchhiker. Inspired by two of the area's most famous residents, the pub's name comes from Edward Lear (writer of the Owl and Pussycat) and Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).
The opposing themes of both writers will be seen in the incredible decor of the pub, from wall murals, carved owls, and futuristic contraptions. The Hitchhiker's Guide's motto 'don't panic' has been carved and is hung from the mezzanine level. The Islington boozer provides a hearty menu of burgers, salads and bar snacks, along with several delicious vegan options.
Drinks will be craft beer and real ale heavy, with plenty of local London breweries on tap. Upstairs, there will be a secret cocktail bar serving quirky mixes and over the weekends, there will be a hot line-up of DJs and live bands.
