Description

It's the beer garden that steals the show at The Eagle. A glorious space with its very own bar and Burger shack. Kick back and wile the hours away in, it's one of the top alfresco spaces in West London.

There's plenty of reason to come when the weather is a little cooler too, though. This is a classic Geronimo Inn, with a cosy interior epitomised by sofas, open fires, an eclectic music policy and vibrant quiz nights. The bar comes stocked up with an array of fine ales and modern wines, with plenty of fresh British food coming to your rescue if you should find yourself fancying a bite to eat.

The Eagle is also a winner when it comes to private hire areas. The garden is naturally perfect for a summer drinks party, and inside there's a bar area that comes complete with a flat screen TV too. Whether you're hosting your own pub quiz or just looking to stage an intimate dinner with your pals, this homely Shepherd's Bush favourite has you covered.

I love The Eagle! I always have a wicked time when I'm there. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is great. The food is luverly and the secco is finger licking good. If you're looking for somewhere to eat that's reasonably priced, has a wicked relaxing atmosphere, good food, attentive friendly staff and THE best secco, then this place is for you. The staff will even duet with you, if you ask nicely 🤣🤗 Helena visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 10 Aug 2017

Went there for Sunday lunch in the beer garden. We had several mishaps which surprised me for a Geronimo Inns, where I usually have much better experience (having been a regular of Prince Albert and Builder Arms). The waiter in charge of the burger shack (curly hair, cap and beard) never smiled, had a big attitude, refused to do table service despite me having opened a tap (he and a waitress confirmed they could take order if we opened a tap), he also told us off for some of our children (3 and 5 years old) playing with a few pebbles (but not throwing or anything dangerous, just pushing and playing with them). This isn't a family friendly place. Several times, the waiter disappeared in one of the corners to take a break and he generally looked almost stone...He never smiled and forgot half of our bill. We pointed out, being honest, that most of the food hadn't been charged to our bill, and after 10 mins of trying to sort it, he and another waitress came back with another bill (correct this time i.e. double the amount) but didn't offer to take anything back or give us drinks or coffees for free. I thought this was very poor and anti-commercial attitude. The burgers were served just wrapped in paper with no plates. The table we sat at was dirty from previous customers and we had to ask the waiter to clean it, which took him 10mn to get around to do. Generally, I think the staff has a very unfriendly / chip on the shoulder/ adversarial behaviour. When we left around 4pm, we found the manager and one of the waitress were sat sharing a bottle of wine and smoking in the front terrace when the pub was still packed and needed staff to look after customers. I personally will never go back to this pub. I also think some of the meals on the sunday menu look overpriced. I also urge Geronimo Inns to investigate how the pub is staffed and currently managed. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 06 Aug 2017

Very appreciative of the generous space allocated for my reservation for a party of 10 - The Eagle is a clean and comfortable pub and I always enjoy spending time here. However, disappointed during this visit by several rude and abrupt members of staff, including a staff member who took away a chair with no comment and when challenged shouted "I'll bring it back".... yet never did. Also a very surly barman who, when asked for a glass of water in addition to the drinks ordered, practically threw the glass over the bar, spilling ice and water over myself and friends and with no apology. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 29 Jul 2017

Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly, I think it was James who I had dealt with. They accommodated us really well and we felt very welcome. It was also very organised, when we were moved inside a space was already waiting for us and there was enough room for everyone to sit, there was no hanging around at all. The food was also fantastic! Will definitely be returning/recommending. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 06 Jul 2017

Terrible! Our food order was forgotten completely and when we asked about it, we were told (unprofessionally) by the manager that the chef had thrown all tickets in the bin as he had too many orders coming through at the same time, and that they had too few staff for the number of people (it was a very hot day so the beer garden was packed – but this had been forecast for a long time!). After a further 15 minute wait our food arrived looking less than appetising. The sale was shrivelled and there were brown bits on the stalks and leaves. I asked for some salad dressing as there was none, but this never arrived. I had to go and find it myself. The waitress did everything she could to avoid eye contact and did' ask us if everything was OK with the meal. When I told the manager about how I hadn't been at all impressed with the food or service, he said he needed to 'go out for a fag' to calm down before talking to me as it had been such a stressful night! visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 14 Jun 2017

I went for Dinner with 3 friends to the Eagle, on Tuesday 6th June. The Food was grossly Overpriced and and tasteless.!!!. The so called ''Lamb Chop'' was just a big bone with very little meat on it, and the so called 'Creamed leeks were just boiled tasteless leeks',I will never go for food there again. If it was not for the amazing charming and and attentive smiling staff who our evening would have been an absolute disaster!!!! Very good, tasty food - once the order was taken and food served! The restaurant was running well behind the orders - which was a pity, considering we had 6 kids at the table! The Eagle need to review their busy times and cope better with service - because the wait was really unacceptable. having said that, the meals were good and the staff pleasant, despite their anxiety about a very busy Bank Holiday Monday. We will return - but at a quieter time, and maybe not with the kids in case it happens again. Sheila Beckett visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 01 May 2017

Good venue but poor service all around (apart from one waitress who was incredible). One person behind bar for a day when there was a number of family bookings + QPRs last game of season. Food wait was long, then cold + did not all come at same time. Would need a compelling reason to go back visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 29 Apr 2017

We had such a lovely Sunday there. We were quite a big group with small children and got one of the outside huts, which was just perfect. Also very easy to go to the outside bar, but there was also table service. The venue was ideal for adults and children and the food was really great. Can definitely recommend whether for a small or large gathering. Can't wait to go back in summer - will be lovely to spend a lazy weekend day in the garden. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 30 Apr 2017

Usually our experience at The Eagle is very good, but unfortunately, they may have skimped on staff due to being a quiet Easter weekend which resulted in very, very slow service. We had three children with us so having lunch drawn out to three hours for a main course and just a couple of puddings was far from ideal. Furthermore, we had to ask staff three times to take orders from our table since they were not forthcoming in coming over unprompted. The food as always was very good. I think we were unlucky on our visit as usually service is very attentive. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 15 Apr 2017

Thank you for taking the time to send us a review. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion, and I am saddened to hear that your service was slow and unattentive. As you are probably aware, we have recently re-opened after refurbishment and have taken on a lot of new staff to help us deliver the great service that we pride ourselves in delivering. We are experiencing a few teething problems, but this shouldn't have affected your visit, and for that I am sorry. I look forward to you visiting again, when I'm sure that we will have a much more efficient service, please feel free to introduce yourself to me so that I can apologise in person. Many thanks John - General Manager

We visited The Eagle Thursday evening to celebrate my husband's birthday with a few of our grown up kids. We live locally and hadn't visited since the pub's refurbishment. We loved the new look of the pub but our evening didn't get off to the best start. We realised after we had all drunk the bottle of table water that it had a rather odd taste. At first we thought it had been flavoured with mint but it had a nasty soapy after taste. After all tasting the water and some of us drinking a whole glass we were pretty horrified to notice that there was a big lump of used chewing gum floating at the bottom of the bottle! We pointed out the problem to the waitress who obviously promptly replaced the bottle. However in the circumstances at the very least we felt we should have received something more than a hasty apology. In other circumstances we would have made this point a little more strongly as It really did rather put us off our meal - (which we had yet to order.) As it was a birthday celebration we decided we didn't want to make a big fuss but all felt that a little compensatory goodwill gesture could have been offered by the management. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 06 Apr 2017

The food was delicious, with innovative recipes, particularly the veggie ones, and great ingredients. But the service left much to be desired. Eg of our party of 6, one person's food came so late everyone else had finished theirs by then. This was after he had been told it would only be "4 minutes". And the lamb rump had far more fat than lean meat. It was clearly the last remaining bit that shouldn't have been served. We were surprised the chef was happy to serve it. Commenting to the waiter that it was mostly fat, he didn't react. This same waiter had also failed to take everyone's orders in one go, walking off after only taking three of our six orders. After we called him back, he walked off again after taking two more orders, and had to be recalled once more to take the 6th person's order. It was a busy rugby night, but still. Taking everyone's order at once, and serving everyone's food at roughly the same time, seem pretty basic. The couple among us who had suggested The Eagle to the rest of us, were embarrassed, apologised to us and crossed it off their list of places to return to. visited The Eagle - Geronimo Inns on 03 Dec 2016
