Description

The Great Exhibition is a Victorian pub with a modern twist. The quirky interior filled with wooden tables, wall exhibits and leather sofas give it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They serve up delicious British pub food at unbeatable prices. Most meals are less than a tenner which is a great deal for the quality. The Sunday roasts are also a big hit with visitors. The pub has not one, but two beer gardens to enjoy when the weather permits. The gin alley isn't something you'll see everyday and was made for exactly what you think, drinking gin.

Besides the delicious food and long list of drinks they are known for their unique events. Saturday mornings you can find artisan markets with locals trading craft items while other evenings there are ale and pie society events and real ale festivals. The Great Exhibition is perfect for a relaxing afternoon, a family meal or drinks any day of the week.

We went to their Friends themed quiz last night (Sunday) and had a ball! The place was packed, had an awesome atmosphere and the roast turkey will delicious. I have been here at all sorts of different times during the week and every time the staff have been friendly, helpful and fast. Will keep going back for sure. the place is well maintained and the atmosphere is magic especially with the band playing every Sunday. fantastic staff and great food, we've booked a table for 6 for a two hours slot unfortunately some of us were very late, despite that they kept our table and reserve us another table to move on when other customers, who were booked after us, arrived, so we have been able to stay after our booking time :) Definitely going again! visited The Great Exhibition on 27 Nov 2016

We originally went to the Great Exhibition for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago but left disappointed as they were fully booked. So to avoid disappointment I booked for last Sunday and arrived with great expectations, how quickly my mood changed. There were 3 of us and we were shown a table that was the size of a small dustbin lid. How they expected to get three plates on the table I don't know. What made matters worse was the table was located no more than a metre away from a live jazz band. I like jazz as much as the next person but a metre away? When I complained to the bar staff it was a very much a take it or leave it attitude. No apology, more of a we are so busy we don't really care and if you don't take the table then I'm sure three tiny jazz loving children can enjoy the table. We left with our wallets and eardrums safely intact. These people are believing their own hype its a nice pub with good food but nothing more. Certainly its staff need to learn some common courtesies. Sadly you don't need to do anymore than that to be banged out in East Dulwich on Sunday lunchtime. visited The Great Exhibition on 20 Nov 2016

Food was tasty, jazz band a delight to listen to, great atmosphere, and dogs galore, so lovely for owners to be able to bring their hounds down too. visited The Great Exhibition on 06 Nov 2016

Roast was really dry and cooked within an inch of its life. Asked for a replacement and they literally just swapped the meat (whilst removing a roast potato at the same time). That left me with one cold roast potato. Pretty unexceptable really. visited The Great Exhibition on 30 Oct 2016

Pub was great. Booze and dessert were great. While all our Sunday roasts were enjoyable they lacked the wow factor that you sometimes get for similar money in other venues. visited The Great Exhibition on 16 Oct 2016

Love the staff in here, super chilled and helpful. They don't scrimp on the booze either, unlike a lot of places that like to water it prosecco down before giving it to you. They weren't super strict on the timings either. Food was nice- defo in one of my top 5 bottomless brunches in London

Had a gathering of 20 for my birthday, love the look of this place, great staff, really good food which considering our number was served more or less all together. Only down side was the dj on the night played only what he seemed to want to play, not a good mix at all, including some very bad jazz! Shame as it would have rounded off an otherwise enjoyable day. sd visited The Great Exhibition on 30 Jul 2016

Went for brunch and the food was terrible. Cold and poor quality ingredients. Didn't go for the bottomless brunch which they seemed surprised by so clearly just selling the gimmick of 'bottomless' and the food is not a priority.

Great Sunday roasts and puddings but won't return due to jazz band starting half way through lunch and making it impossible to have a conversation. Too loud for the baby as well. Without the band it would be a near perfect Sunday lunch outing, but with it, its impossible to have the relaxed catch up with friends we want. We've been six times and had to leave three of those times more quickly than we would have had the band not been playing. We like jazz, (and the band is great), but not being blasted with it during lunch! We had saturday brunch there once but the food was absolutely dreadful! Cold and tasteless eggs benedict, which seemed made of very poor quality ingredients. We didn't finish it because it was so unpleasant and there are much better brunch options in east dulwich. Its also a really baby friendly place generally, but there are no changing facilitites and the ladies loo is absolutely freezing, so I had to change the baby in the car. Needs a bit of work to make the facilitites as good as the pub and more consistency in the quality of the cooking. nell234 visited The Great Exhibition on 07 Feb 2016

Came for the brunch with bottomless cocktails with my partner. We liked the concept but the food was very disappointing. Half of the cooked breakfast was stone cold and the quality was not great. It seems good value for money but we ended up just leaving very disappointed. The Bloody Mary's are not great - so we didn't even take advantage of the limitless supply! js78 visited The Great Exhibition on 06 Feb 2016

Sunday lunch. Good food, plenty of it. The must is good, but not if you want to have any conversation. Always ask for a table far away from the seriously loud jazz band. Or even better just go another time. One of our guests had to leave have way through due to a headache, that's just how loud it was. ro1985 visited The Great Exhibition on 10 Jan 2016

Pub does a great quiz night on Tuesdays. Alfie the quiz master is hilarious. Always a great atmosphere and the food is fab (I recommend the squid and chorizo salad!)

Absolutely awesome pub. Great buzz and vibe, play great music, live jazz, massive food portions and a bit more originality on the food menu compared to the standard pub menu you see in London. Nice craft beers on tap and the garden is great.

Terrible place - I went here last week and had a really bad experience. The food was unpalatable and the manager was unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend going here - and I certainly won't be returning.
