Description

The Three Compasses is an old school boozer that's managed to adapt to the changing face of Hackney whilst still sticking to its eastend roots.

This watering hole in Dalston doesn't conform to what you'd typically expect from a popular pub in zone two - it isn't a super-chic hipster parade with a microbrewery and a room for stroking cats; it's simply a cosy local spot where you can sink into a comfy sofa with a pint of ale in hand and let the time fly by. Walk in and you'll be greeted to a venue made up of wooden floors, tables and chairs - super simple stuff. But this pub lures all sorts through the doors - young couples, old locals, the crazy guy that hangs around Dalston junction... the lot - and everyone comes together to create a genuinely charming, friendly and unpretentious vibe. The staff here are cracking folk too; always doing their best to look after punters. There's a great selection of board games, darts and table football, and every now and then, they screen the odd film or show - particularly during Game of Thrones season! Of a weekend, this place transforms into a bit of an old school rave, with crowds drinking and dancing the night away as a DJ spins large tunes into the early hours. It really is a cracking pub.

During the day, the food and drink here is really something to write home about. The kitchen serves up some of the best burgers in London - big juicy beasts that you'll have to shovel down before chasing with a pint of luscious ale from their well-stocked bar!

A nice little boozer. Been here a couple of times recently to watch the 6 nations. Always a good crowd, very friendly staff and quick service. Burgers are great too. Recommend booking a table if you're coming to watch the sport, it gets busy. visited The Three Compasses on 18 Mar 2017

Average. Drinks were good, food ok although one of our burgers was over cooked and one of the staff kindly arranged for another to be cooked. Main issue was our table for dinner was near the door and we have a group of people standing over us whilst we ate and bumping into our table, twice spilling our drinks over the table and us. Might come back but might not. visited The Three Compasses on 10 Feb 2017

Best pub in London whether you want to savour local craft beer with your organic burger or dance the night away at the weekend.

Met 3 old friends for a catch-up on Friday night - the pub is just around the corner from my house and has been a regular venue for me over the last few months. I managed to persuade my friends to journey over from south London and Hertford, meeting at the Three Compasses rather than one of our usual Shoreditch haunts. I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to book a table - the pub was incredibly cosy; lively without getting too packed with great music - Bowie tribute night here as well! Whilst we had to wait a bit for our burgers, that's pretty much expected and accepted - gives you a chance to have a few more drinks. The food was great, as usual, when it arrived. Bar staff are friendly too - this place has rapidly become a favourite of mine. bullers visited The Three Compasses on 08 Apr 2016

What a lovely pub! Really cosy and friendly, would definitely go again. We arrived late afternoon when it was low key and by 6pm it was buzzing. Great for an afternoon or an evening - depending on what vibe you fancy! Awesome burgers too :) Polly visited The Three Compasses on 19 Mar 2016
