Description

The Maple Leaf is a cosy sports led pub and grill in the heart of Covent Garden. As the name suggests it pays homage to all things Canada. Sporting memorabilia adorn the walls and include ice hockey sticks as well as canoe paddles, a moose head, a Mounty’s uniform, a totem pole and a life size wooden red Indian.

The clientele, however, is thoroughly international, bound together by a common thread of affection for this very well known and well liked pub. It is spacious, comfortable and welcoming with a good bar to lean on complete with brass foot rail, standing room for the group imbiber and comfortable seats and tables around the walls and up at the back.

The selection of draught beers includes John Smiths, Kronenbourg, Molson, Fosters, Guinness and Guinness Extra Cold and Scrumpy Jack cider. Bottled beer abounds and includes some of Canada’s best - Moose head, Sleeman’s, Molson Canadian and Molson Canadian Ice.

On the menu? Small plates like battered cheese curds, crispy smashed potatoes and pulled beef croquette, as well as poutine, burgers, and fish and chips.

Several TV screens show Sky 1,2 3 and Sky Sport Extra. Most sports are shown here, including live sports matches, and, of course, NHL (Ice Hockey).
