Love our Sunday roast. Every was good only staffs not quite friendly visited The Windmill Clapham on 19 Mar 2017

Had a good time but food and service could have been better. Portions were large.Roast pork cut too thick and the tempura vegetables chosen by the vegan person on the party were overcooked and greasy not the light tempura she wish for. Restaurant very busy. Waitress pleasant but felt 'industrious' We had to ask for sauces for the roast and not enquiries were made as to how was the food, not why the vegetable dish was left mostly uneaten. visited The Windmill Clapham on 19 Mar 2017

It's always really lovely here, and the food was great. The service was a bit slow and inattentive, but they were absolutely heaving, and they maybe didn't have enough staff on. pickle visited The Windmill Clapham on 19 Mar 2017

Very comfortable and quiet place to stay- surprisingly so given lively pub/ restaurant. Food is also a good standard. Little touches like free fresh milk in mini bar and a decent hairdryer are impressive touches. Would recommend . visited The Windmill Clapham on 17 Mar 2017

This was our first visit to The Windmill. Great location and the pub felt warm and inviting as soon as you stepped inside. Staff were very accommodating and informative. Spend the best part of two and a half hours at the pub having a few drinks and a fine selection of the lunch menu items. We had some how decided to make this lunch a three course meal. Baked camembert was lovely and gooey and the special of the day Pork escalope had me filling my boots. Some how we even managed a Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert. I did share this one with the wife mind you as it was big enough to share. All and all a lovely afternoon and even though we didn't have a dog of our own to bring to the pup friendly venue we equally enjoyed sharing the other guests pets to the delight of our two kids. We will most certainly be back. visited The Windmill Clapham on 04 Mar 2017

What a great find! We were visiting our kids who have now moved to Clapham and so needed to find a local hotel. We booked direct at a very reasonable rate for 2 nights and had the good fortune to be upgraded to room 43 which is just so lovely. Really quirky with a huge bed, seating area, coffee machine and gorgeous bathroom. Despite being above a very busy buzzy pub and restaurant (both of which we used and enjoyed) the room was quiet and we slept like logs. Breakfast is good and varied. The staff are really friendly and we liked that they're casually dressed as it adds to a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is directly on Clapham Common which is lovely and Clapham itself is a great place to visit. All in all a lovely weekend. Highly recommended visited The Windmill Clapham on 03 Mar 2017

Food was reasonable, prices were OK. Was really disappointed at being asked to leave as I was still drinking my coffee. It was 11pm on a Saturday evening! I thought it was rude being asked to pay the bill at quarter to eleven when our coffee had just arrived. The staff were pleasant but still kind of took the shine off visited The Windmill Clapham on 25 Feb 2017

After a very enjoyable meal in the summer we returned as a family and hoping to repeat the experience but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. The service from start to finish was slow. The lemon sole was full of bones and what was left after removal was minimal to say the least. We ordered 3 steak and mushroom pies and there were only a few bits of steak in each. visited The Windmill Clapham on 10 Feb 2017

Very comfortable rooms. The stair wells could do with smartening up a bit now. Food good but in the interest oh hygiene a napkin should always be placed on the breakfast buffet loaf. Not nice to have several people handling the bread. I had to mention it each morning until Sunday! Look forward to staying again. visited The Windmill Clapham on 03 Feb 2017

The food was initially very disappointing. I ordered lamb rump, but was given a tiny amount of meat, with LOTS of fat. I had to send the food back. Thankfully, the second attempt was much better, with a proper lamb rump being served. visited The Windmill Clapham on 04 Feb 2017

The service and venue was lovely. My family and I all had Sunday roasts however, unfortunately the cuts of meat were not great (chewy and fatty). Not what you would expect for a £17 roast. The waitress kindly offered to deduct my mothers meal from the bill as she did not eat any of the meat. Hopefully just a one off, would like to try the restaurant again. visited The Windmill Clapham on 29 Jan 2017

The staff were extremely helpful in helping the arrangement of the room. Jade, the young lady who was our main help/waitress was terrific. All the guests were extremely complimentary about her. They were also complimentary about the venue itself and the catering. What more could you want? visited The Windmill Clapham on 21 Jan 2017

The service was excellent however the food let it down. The children's meals arrives piping hot and my daughter had the fish and chips which was very greasy. Then the adult meals arrived and the fries were quite cold. Two of the party had the vension burgers which were overcooked - they were offered replacements but by this time had already finished the meals. Lovely atmosphere but think the food let the place down. visited The Windmill Clapham on 21 Jan 2017

The room was nice and cosy, friendly staff and nice breakfast, However I was assigned a room for disabled guests with a bathroom door that wouldn't lock or even close (very inconvenient for two people sharing a room), no lid on the toilet seat which is not very hygienic and in general not what I had expected from the bathroom when I booked, it looked different in the photos and I wasn't informed of this. visited The Windmill Clapham on 21 Jan 2017

Lovely venue. We went with our 5 and 2 year old (!). The staff were lovely but the beef on the Sunday roast was quite tough. As we have kids it would be nice if they had a play area for them but that may scare non parents away. :-) visited The Windmill Clapham on 01 Jan 2017

The atmosphere was good. The staff friendly but the food was not great. It was NYE so the restaurant was full but we were all a little disappointed with the meal. The steaks were all badly cooked - even when returned to the kitchen and represented. The fondant puddings lacked any fondant - and that was the same for all 10 of us that had them. Having said that we did have a good time overall and like the venue so would recommend. Just not on NYE! visited The Windmill Clapham on 31 Dec 2016

I had my first visit to The Windmill for a New Years Eve lunch. The pub really is a beautiful place but the staff and variety on the menu let it down.
