Description

Just a stone's throw away from Monument station, The Vintry is a fine gastro pub that regularly attracts large crowds of office workers from the surrounding area, making it an ideal spot for post-work drinks and catch ups with friends.

Found in a rather secluded alley, the interior boasts an impressive wood and stainless steel-furnished lobby, adorned with nautical portholes and staggering cages of vintage wines, which then leads into an entrance for the large main dining room.

More of a dining space during the day, it gets busy quickly with businessmen wining and dining clients, so ensure you book in advance. However once the sun sets, the focus shifts to the bar with a more spacious environment created by the staff with the wine cellar proving a popular hit, that's also available for private hire. An all-round enjoyable venue, it's flexible, easy-going and incredibly hospitable, making The Vintry one of the finest venues in the area.

Food was very good. We were served well by Giulia - who was very attentive and preceded our order by asking if we had any food allergies. visited Vintry on 12 Sep 2017

I visited the Vintry for lunch and overall it was a true delight. I work just outside of the city, and haven't found a spot I liked so much in a long time. First off, the service was fantastic, from the moment we were met at the door and shown a table. I thought the table itself, nearby the shotgun foxes, with the informality of the booth setting very good indeed. The menu.was detailed and varied. Very impressed with the quality of the dishes that were found on the 2 courses for £16 set menu - usually I look over these, but there was no reason not to do it this time. The wine - a reason to visit all by itself. The rare and vintage FMC (by the glass!!!) a total, utter delight. Overall I found the pub to be remarkably spacious inside, the atmosphere sophisticated yet relaxed. I could have spent all afternoon at the bar. One day soon I shall. All the many staff looked like they were working hard (on a lightish Wednesday lunch!) and enjoying themselves. Congrats to all, 5 stars all round. visited Vintry on 06 Sep 2017

We are a big group and we require a quiet space for discussion. The Vintry people are very accommodating and made sure to find the right place for us. visited Vintry on 06 Sep 2017

I had a really great dinner with friends at the Vintry recently, the service was great and the food delicious. The vegetarian Caesar salad starter was one of the best starters I've ever had! visited Vintry on 01 Sep 2017

Stood around for absolutely ages trying to find/get the attention of a waiter as we had booked a table.. none to be seen anywhere, eventually got one and he just seemed rather annoyed and put out that we had booked a table. They used to have a separate menu for vegetarians & vegans that our party often ate from due to dietary restrictions but also because it was more interesting a lot of the time, however they no longer have this, and just have a smaller normal menu. Very disappointing. Wont be coming here again. lauragentry visited Vintry on 21 Mar 2017

I went here for lunch with colleagues on a Friday. There is good food (portions slightly small), a nice atmosphere and the drink prices are reasonable. I'd return again in the future.

Absolutely love this place. The food was gorgeous, the staff are very attentive and they strive to make sure you're having a great time. The venue has this gastro-pub feel, even though its in the heart of the city. Would reccomend it to anyone

A great pub in a rather discrete area, The Vintry never disappoints. No matter what time you come, you'll always have a great time. Just book a table in advance!
