Camden Town Brewerys story began in the basement of The Horseshoe in Hampstead; where co-founder Jasper Cuppaidge began brewing his own beer. The operation then moved down the road to the railway arches in Camden Town. A few years on they converted seven old Victorian arches and installed a beautiful modern brewery, made by Braukon in Germany.
Though the bar only opens Thursday to Saturday they have already established a strong standing with London beer connoisseurs, boasting some of the most advanced brewing equipment of any UK micro-brewing company. The impressive range is guaranteed to satisfy any pallet, from their hoppy pale ale to the deeper and stronger stouts. A real selling point is the personal touch. London pubs are riddled with multinational beer companies whose products have travelled thousands of miles to get to the glass. Contrary to this, all of Camden Town Brewerys bartenders were involved in the brewing process and all of the beer is produced on-site.
The Camden Town Brewery has also started serving a carefully crafted food menu. The menu was developed to be the perfect compliment to a lovely beer so expect such classics as burgers, sausages, schnitzel, sausage rolls etc etc. For the real keanos, Camden Town Brewery also offers tours of the plant twice a month. The tours last a couple of hours and involve a beer on arrival, going around the brewery trying more beer, viewing the beer making process, eating some malt, smelling some hops, drinking beer from the tank (nothing beats drinking beer from the tank), getting an insight into Camden Town Brewery and finally returning to the bar to try every beer they make.
